In this recent interview with Horner he also says that the amount of porpoising is also a matter of choice. Raise the ride heigt and it becomes way less.
He also says that sending out drivers with a setup that is unsafe is never a good thing....

Of course what MERC is bothering the most, is not the porpoising, but that they've lost their leading position with the introduction of the ground effect cars, and that that gap is substantial (the difference between fastest laps from RB and RUS is over 1sec, where the RB cars were on orders to take it easy and at one point not to even use DRS); not something they're gonne close in the near future.
I'm pretty sure that had RB not given the order to take it easy, they certainly could've lapped HAM.

So if anything, they'd like to see the ground effect cars gone....

Merc do seem to be going for a very aggressive setup especially on HAM car but the whole field are suffering with it to one degree or another. The Ferrari certainly doesn't look great on the straights either, they are all doing it.

I think something needs to be done but I can't see all teams agreeing to it as some have sorted it and others are still struggling with it. Would much rather talk about the racing than the bouncing so if its still there at the end of this year I can see the FIA doing something about it personally. Maybe allow the return of the hydraulic suspension but certainly not full active suspension.

Oh I remember last year how our friend, a certain lobbyist, was citing all sorts of statistics to support his argument that Hamilton was winning because Hamilton's raw talent and not the car. I remember how I said watch this kid Russell will wipe the floor with 777 and look what's happening. Did Hamilton win because of raw talent? Nah. Is talent required to win? Sure. But is it mostly being at the right place at the right time? Yep. The proof is in the pudding.

I never took anyone seriously that called Hamilton the goat and I respect the shit out of his driving. Terrible take from people who only look at analytics and nothing else.

I know many hate Hamilton on this forum but he most certainly isn't the only one to complain about the proposing.

Seems GASLY is the latest to come out and say enough is enough. The challenge is yes the teams can increase ride hight but the performance suffers and the teams (all of them) are saying suck it up and take it for the most part.

So I think the FIA will be forced to do something to help everyone from the front to the back despite the teams rejecting solutions pre-season it appears.

It's not that he's complaining about porpoising it's that he's now victimized himself in an exaggerated fashion like he always does. He looked like he just finished storming normandy beach.

I don't think the FIA needs to do anything. Clearly some teams have figured it out within the confines of the rules more than others. This is exactly what F1 constructors is all about. Some teams like MB, who should have trashed their dumbass car concept after race 1, chose to keep applying bandages onto a bad car. Now they're crying about it.

In my mind, the same goes for Schumacher, Verstappen, Prost, Senna. Given the number of changes the cars are constantly undergoing, and by the drivers' own admissions, when they lose, it's a bad car, when they win it's a good car.

Otherwise, are you telling me, Perez, Sainz, Russell and LeClerk all surpassed Hamilton in skill in just 1 year? It is the cars, it has always been and always will be the cars. There's no way to objectively determine who the best driver is, because they don't all start with the same car.
