Thumbs up New Universal Gun Carry Clip Holster Alternative

Makes carrying a 1911 in gym shorts at the beach or semi physical activities no problem. If you think your gun is going to magically go off for no reason its probably not for you.

safety comes off, feel free to reach in my pants and pull the trigger since nothing is covering it and NOTHING will happen when you do. there is a beavertail/grip safety that has to be depressed as well. I have been carrying all my guns including ones with no safeties like a Glock for years like 10's of thousands of other active enthusiasts

you realize guns have been around for 200yrs and people carry no holster since they were created like this, even guys with no manual safeties.

If its not your style its not your style but your statement is just simply incorrect and ignorant.

1911 is meant to be carried cocked and locked. In this position for 105 yrs no recorded accidental unintentional discharges have been recorded. It has a double safety. First the manual he demonstrates in the video. Second, one that requires the gun to be gripped to allow firing. As prior poster said, ignorant comment.

Thats not true....

LOTS of people have had ND/AD's with all sorts of HG's including the beloved 1911

Folks use holsters to protect (isolate) the trigger AND safety from unintentional manipulation

Eliminate that isolation/protection and safeties get disenguaged and all SORTS of unintentional manipulations of triggers/etc are possible

Bollox!
If I wear a 1911 I want to know the lot that if they're be able to recognize the Marine eagle, than they are too damn close!
No need to wear a heavy gun into a gym short, thats ridiculous.

I've carried my Combat Commander 1911 cocked and safety on/off for years without an issue. Beavertail safety and my finger on the slide until I'm fully drawn has never failed me. I've carried this, my G19, a Springfield XDm, and a 92FS all without issues.

I agree with the above posts that say if you aren't disciplined enough, this isn't for you. I like this idea, and would use it, but I'm so spoiled with the comfort of my paddle/Kydex holster. This however may find use when I'm wearing a suit or something where the extra space needed for a full IWB holster makes the pants look bunched up.

Hey OP, you mentioned this would make carrying in shorts easier, so am I safe to assume you have one and use it? If so, I have questions sir.

Thats not true. Trugger can't manipulate unless both the grip is gripped anf the safety clicked off. It can fire if not cocked and dropped. You can twirl it by the trigger and tug on it all day in cocked and locked position. Look it up. Its called condition one. Only 1911 should be carried this way. http://www.usacarry.com/carrying-cocked-locked/

Lots of things happen under clothing (and people) which is the entire point of a holster

No doubt, any 1911 i have will take my gym shorts to the ground in heart beat.

I agree. There is no real reason to carry any pistol without some type of trigger guard. Chairs, seat belts, people bumping into you, crawling under an obstacle, any number of things can cause an ND. Especially with a 1911, well, at least my 1911s have triggers with zero take up and break with just a thought of pulling the trigger. 1911 is a stupid choice for conceal carry anyway.

I'll stick to carrying my glock wth it's heavy ass trigger shielded by a kydex trigger guard, thank you very much.

1911 is only auto I would consider carrying without a trigger guard. And as tonka said, a full size sucks as a carry. I've carried mine but prefer my ruger lcp or sig 229 40 much more than the 1911.

I don't just carry for me. I first carry for my family. I'm the wall the bad guys have to go through before they get to them. Carry just turns my wall from flesh to steel.

That was the answer to the fixed post, I lolled for an hour thinking how hard the mentioned carrying method would be to clean (I'm very, very tired, that's my excuse). No need to open an other gun debate yet again.

I'll start sleeping more as soon as possible.

Females could stick the gun also into their very special holster, but lets not deepen this thinking anymore
