Interior windshield coating(?) peeling

Bought a 2020 X3 for my wife on Friday and was washing the bugs off yesterday only to notice this (see pics) on the inside of the windshield. It looks like some sort of coating is peeling off. The car does have PermaPlate, but I can't find (on google) where PP coats the interior of the glass.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to remedy this? I have notified the dealer, but I expect people here will have better advice...
Thanks!

Glass interior makes me wonder if the windshield was tinted. Can you see a tinted outline around the perimeter of the glass?

I did think about tint, but it is not a film, more of a coating/chemical. I asked a friend about it this afternoon; he thinks it might be the anti-fog coating, and the entire windshield needs to be replaced. There is another perfect square that looks like this in the bottom passenger corner...definitely where a sticker was.

If it was on the lower driver's side I'd think it might be for the head-up display.

Run you hand around the dot matrix by the rearview. You should be able to confirm if it's tint as the edges of -a film- would be fairly cut/exposed around this proximity. At a 1st glance, I'd presume it's the hardcoat from tint.

mine did the same thing! I thought it was tinted as well but the dealer said that the windshield on car equipped with HUD had a type of film on it. They replaced the glass for me

Thanks for the replies! It is definitely not tint. The car doesn't have HUD, but whatever film is on it (maybe for HUD???) is coming off. I bought it from a dealer that is not local, asked them - but haven't heard back. I will probably just stop by the local dealer and see if they will replace it (which is probably the only/best solution).
