Triples... 27s or 32s?

I'm torn between 27" curved or 32" curved for triples. Will be on a TR80 rig and used for sim racing and flight/space sims with head tracking. Currently rocking a 34" ultrawide curved.

I'm worried 32's will be huge, but also worried 27's will feel small.

It depends on resolution imo, 27 is too small for 4k, 32 is too big for 1440p.

4k is also a LOT of pixels to render. 1440p is ~54% more pixels than 1080p, huge difference in video card power.

I sit 22" away from a 49" curved ultrawide which is exactly the same size and screen real estate as two 27" 16x9 displays. It's easy for me to imagine what a third 27" display would look like. And that makes me want 32" displays for triples.

Frosty brings up some valid points worth considering. In the end, I think your GPU and the distance you sit from your monitor should dictate which size for triples.

RTX 3090ti, 12th Gen i9, 32gb DDR5. I currently have everything set up at about 26", but I can adjust as needed.

4k monitors are just too expensive for anything 120hz or higher. I'm trying to keep monitors and triple mount under $1500 as thats what I got back from returning my Pimax. I've already spent too much on all of this lol.

PREACH!

I'm of the mind that nobody has ever said "I wish I had gotten the smaller display." but if you've got a hard budget, your decision has been made for you. Triple 27s it is.

There are plenty of arguments out there how 27" is the perfect size for sim racing for its realistic FOV and that anything bigger just lends a larger-than-life element to things. So you should be quite happy with that setup.

Interested in seeing where you land. I’m currently planning to do 32”. Was reading up on curved vs flat. Ppl are split but more seem to prefer flat.

I found the same. I think most of the split comes from folks either not liking change, or games not supporting curved when curved first came out and folks had issues with distortion. From what I've seen lately theres little to no distortion anymore. I think most of that distortion came with trying to run curved ultrawide.

I'm leaning towards 32". Having a 34" right now I'm worried the center will be too small with a 27". We have 27's at work so I set 3 of them up and the center screen just seems small.

I just totaled up my current setup... do not recommend...

$6179 so far.

After 32's, triple stand, and the few other things I have my cart right now it comes out to $7703.

You literally have my setup.

I use 3 x 32 @ 1440P and glad I went this route.

Recommend you have a good 1000w PSU - I had issues with one of the monitors turning off and on in the middle of a race. Was using a bronze 1000w EVGA (it may have crapped out, not sure) but using an asus rog 1000w plat now and no issues.

I just did my whole rig a month ago so I know what you're going through financially. Sooooooooooo worth it though.

I ordered 32's, triple stand showed up last night so I'm in the process of building it all now.

I have a Corsair RMx 1000 PSU.

I had a windows update yesterday and in the middle of our league race last night, I had the same monitor black outs a few times. I don't think it was PSU related.

Theres been reports of the latest Nvidia updates causing issues with multiple games. A lot of poor VR performance and users have been rolling back to older drivers. Might be related.
