UPDATE! NEW Nintendo Entertainment System!!!
UPDATE: "Nintendo is bringing back the NES Classic
Nintendo has backtracked on its baffling decision to cancel the NES Classic Edition, announcing that it will see new shipments next summer. In addition, the upcoming Super NES Classic Edition has seen such high demand that Nintendo has decided to extend shipments into 2018. The company previously planned to stop selling it by the end of this year. Nintendo has made vague promises of more stock for the SNES Classic after its predecessor proved to be near-impossible to find for many. But pre-orders for the new retro console have been equally difficult to secure ahead of release, and it seems Nintendo has finally seen all the evidence it needs to realize that yes, these products are things that a lot of people want to buy. The SNES Classic has 21 Super Nintendo games, including the previously unreleased Star Fox 2. It’s set to go on sale September 29th for $79.99, assuming you can find one — Nintendo says there’ll be more SNES Classic available units on launch day than NES Classic units for the whole of last year." PER: The Verge https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/12/1...ore-snes-stock =============================================== Say no more, fam!!! "It turns out that Nintendo is launching new hardware this year after all! On Thursday morning, Nintendo announced the NES Classic Edition — a miniature version of the original Nintendo Entertainment System which will cost $59.99 when it launches on November 11th, 2016. Although the mini console looks nearly identical to its original counterpart, there are some key difference between the NES and the NES Classic Edition. For one, the Classic Edition connects to your TV via an HDMI cable, giving modern gamers with HDTVs a chance to play some of Nintendo’s very first games. Along with an HDMI cable, the package also includes an AC adapter and an NES Classic Controller (modeled after the original NES controller). Plus, the console comes preloaded with 30 games (which we’ve listed below). Once you’re done playing NES games on your Classic Edition console, you can then connect the Classic Controller to your Wii Remote in order to play Virtual Console games on your Wii or Wii U. Even if you decide not to pick up the mini NES, you should be able to buy a Classic Controller separately for $9.99 this fall. Here’s the complete list of 30 games that come preloaded on the console: •Balloon Fight™ •BUBBLE BOBBLE •Castlevania™ •Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest™ •Donkey Kong™ •Donkey Kong Jr. ™ •DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE •Dr. Mario™ •Excitebike™ •FINAL FANTASY® •Galaga™ •GHOSTS’N GOBLINS® •GRADIUS™ •Ice Climber™ •Kid Icarus™ •Kirby’s Adventure™ •Mario Bros. ™ •MEGA MAN® 2 •Metroid™ •NINJA GAIDEN •PAC-MAN™ •Punch-Out!! ™ Featuring Mr. Dream •StarTropics™ •SUPER C™ •Super Mario Bros.™ •Super Mario Bros. ™ 2 •Super Mario Bros. ™ 3 •TECMO BOWL •The Legend of Zelda™ •Zelda II: The Adventure of Link™" Per BGR http://bgr.com/2016/07/14/nintendo-n...-release-date/ Last edited by mirob; 09-13-2017 at 12:32 PM.. |

I actually don't think this is a good deal. There are a ton of emulators out there that my son has had so he's played all the games for free. Plus, they are missing a lot of titles for $60.00.

Yeah, I've seen the Hyperkin RetroN 3 that takes 3 different kinds of cartridges, NES, SNES, GENESIS...I wonder if it's any good...anyone ever try anything like it? It's about $50 with no games.

My body is so ready for this. The only bummer is there is no plan to add expansion for this for more games. Nintendo could absolutely OWN if they made these classic design but shrunken systems and had everything loaded with the possibility of expansion. Can you imagine having mini NES, SNES, and N64 without the worry of a bunch of cartridges around? This may be the new centerpiece for my home theater. I also may finally beat some old Nintendo games I never did back in the day.
I'm also seriously excited for Blades of Steel and Double Dragon. Man I'm gonna feel like I'm 5 again and just got back from the local video store with a couple rented games. Seriously so pumped for this. |

I was hoping that some of the missing popular games would be offered as DLC but that's not going to happen...here are some highlight from a Q&A:
Can I use my old NES cartridges? Nope! There's no cartridge slot -- according to Nintendo, the 30 games are all stored in onboard memory, and you can't add or download any more. How about my old NES gamepads and Zappers? Not those either! The NES Classic Edition has a different controller port. You might recognize that port, though -- it's the same one you'll find at the bottom of a Nintendo Wii remote. If you want to play a two-player game, you can connect a Wii Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro for player #2. Can you save your game? Yes. Nintendo told Polygon, "Each game has multiple suspend points, so you can start where you left off at a later time." |

I don't mess with PCs though, have some old ass laptop that I never turn on...I task my Note5 with shopping, browsing, porn, etc. Tried an emulator once, and while it worked ok, it was impossible to play with the buttons on the screen. |

I have a Note 5 and I tethered my PS4 controller to it and use that when I play emulated games, works great... Especially on the PS2 with Tokyo Extreme Racer..!

No, u just need to find the sixaxis file to make it work.. At least that's what I did about a year ago when the note 5 first came out, may be an ever easier way by now.. And I'm on AT&T so there's no successful untethered root for the Note 5 yet so I did it all without rooting..
