passenger seat occupancy sensor
Has anyone tried the passenger seat occupancy sensor emulators that are available on the web? My car has the 3 wire sensor which can't be bypassed by a resistor and requires a circuit, which several are available. If this works for $30 that is much less expensive than the seat sensor at $375! We don't have small children anymore so I just want the airbag always active.

Well, the $30 (including shipping) seat emulator came in and seems to work well, no lights or warnings. I cut the connector to the seat mat and soldered in the wires as shown. This enables the air bags regardless of the size of the person in the seat. The emulator has a switch on it so you can turn the passenger air bag off if you are hauling a small child. $30 sure beats $375 unless you are regularly hauling a small child in the passenger seat (they should be in the back anyway).

I had the same problem on my E90. The occupancy mat was broken. Bought an emulator from www.bmairbagmodule.com and it worked a treat. Plug and play with no wire cutting. Made in UK so quality was good.
