See I know I won't have this problem. My engagement diamond is my mom's diamond. It was left to me when she pasted. If she doesn't hand me the ring at the moment of the break up her hand will be forced into a vice grip and her finger will be cut off with the ring still on. By trying to avoid this outcome I'm still spinning my thumbs trying to decide if my current gf is the correct one to avoid a nasty divorce seeing that I make more than double her.

Legally, if you broke it off, she gets to keep the ring. If she broke it off, the ring is yours. If she refuses to return the ring, then the value is due. Of course, you might just have to sue to get what is legally yours, if that is the case.

My wife still has the engagement ring that belonged to her ex-fiance. He wanted it back, but he owed her like $10,000 because she helped put him through school while they were together. She basically said FU, I'm keeping the ring.

It was appraised at $3600, but the most we were offered from a jeweler was $1500. What a fricken racket that is. Maybe we should sell it on eBay. Any other suggestions?
