Positives for me include:

1. Less fast food
2. More time at home with my son (he's 6)
3. Finding time to do the things I had time to do before, but had excuses
4. I had $0 in the stock market, so my loss is $0
5. I have 1 year's worth of wages saved, so I can take a year off if I need to
6. We have plenty of food and TP
7. None of us has gotten sick yet
8. On the few drives I have taken, I'm loving the traffic
9. Spring is here, so it's a good time to be outside by myself just enjoying the weather

There are more, I'm sure, but those are the highlights.

Of course, this is life, so you can't have the good without the bad.

1. My wife works at a hospital
2. I hope I have a job when all this blows over
3. I hope our family isn't the small percentage that get critically ill, especially our parents
4. Plans of paying off the cars and house early won't come to fruition
5. My right shoulder has been bothering me, so I can't work-out like I have been

Here's to making the first list longer and the second one shorter.

Our local hospital geared up for this. They have beds and respirators available and a tent out in the parking lot for testing. But so far, no cases in this county. They've basically told their staff to take vacation now if they have time because they may not see a day off for a long time once the virus gets here.

Middle of the cornfields. It'll be here soon, though. College town with loads of off campus rentals. Even though classes are online only, the students who live in those apartments and houses will be back from extended spring break next week and partying as usual. They'll surely be bringing the virus with them.

More positives from my view:

1. time to cook French cuisine
2. working from home allows time and confidentiality for more networking calls
3. hoping to see some attractive pricing on pre-owned performance vehicles on my list

that's not really good news though, just a positive side effect of global economic halt along with Saudis flooding the market. Such low oil prices can decimate domestic suppliers and result in hundreds of thousands of job losses.

Some good jokes starting to show up:

Are my testicles black? A suspected Covid-19 male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. A young student female nurse appears and gives him a partial sponge bath. “Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?" Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet." He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check for me. Are my testicles black?" Concerned that he might elevate his blood pressure and heart rate from worrying about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment and pulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles gently in the other. She looks very closely and says, "There's nothing wrong with them, Sir. They look fine." The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her, and says very slowly, “Thank you very much. That was wonderful. Now listen very, very, closely: “Are - my - test - results - back?"

FDA authorizes Abbott Labs' portable, 5-minute coronavirus test the size of a toaster

Is there catch I am missing? This is going to be a game changer. Apparently it can give positive result in as little as 5 minutes and negative result in 13 minutes.

Ahhh.....SAP. I remember those days. I was considered a Power User and had to train others.

Since moving to the smaller company, we use Chempax. Its just a VB based ERP that a lot of chemical companies use.

And since we host it on a server out of state, that took care of 90% of my work from home people as its all done by Terminal Services.

COVID will be a major attrition-event across many industries... however, the good operators who run good businesses will have less competition.

strong balance sheets, conservative fiscal policy (which sounds weird in a small business sense) and reasonable decision making is about to pay off for everyone who has been practicing it.

There is no reasonable decision making for a full country shutdown for multiple months. If this keeps on going we are all screwed, even the most conservative do not underwrite for this type of scenario.

that is for sure. and i agree that this is going ot get much worse once the downstream economic impact begins to be realized.

however, i have had many conversations this week. the guys who kept lots of cash around, own lots of real estate and have good finance depts are going to last a lot longer.

the tide will be washing out the poorly managed and the over-leveraged first.

lots of large tenant loses in malls already confirmed. lots of mass lay offs queitly being announced and processed. two dealer groups have laid off 700+ people and i'm told a lot more are coming.
