That's a pretty low price point. You could check Craigslist for used ones, you may be able to get a 20 or 30d or older rebel for that.

Sounds like you want a point and shoot camera at that price point. Are you looking to get a DSLR? If so, you will need more money for brand new or find a fairly old Rebel as the above poster stated.

You'll probably be better off with a point and shoot, unless you can conjure up at least another $100 for an older rebel body w/ a lens on craigslist or something. I'm not sure that you'll be able to find a solid DSLR for $200, but I could be wrong.

Check out the Black Friday sales such as the one on Amazon.com. There's a Fujifilm XF1 for $199 which is a pretty good price for a decent camera.

Used Rebel XTi or maybe even XSi can be had for $200 or less if you look around and are great cameras.
Of course the cost of DSLR's doesn't stop at the camera, so if you really just want a better camera than your iPhone (or whatever) and wouldn't be interesting in expanding your lens arsenal for different types of shots or learning photography in the future in general, then I'd say a decent Point and Shoot (P&S) is the way to go. |

in the right hands, an iphone can make better photos than a $2,000 camera in the wrong hands. pick up a book and use what you've got.
