As an ex-skater, this made me smile ...

Lol, hilarious.

Damn it, I miss ramps. Do you remember how much it really hurt or are you at the point where you're immortal again op?

I went with friends a few years back, and I don't know which shocked me the most. It was hilarious to realize how much muscle I had lost but also how many ways you can hurt a knee and an elbow in one damn minor fuckup.

Thanks Lups : I am 42 now. I skated for 5 years in my teens and early twenties. 3 years of this - pretty much every day.

Mentally, you can still carve and do tricks, in exactly the same way that you did 20 years earlier. Physically, as you say, your body simply does not want to know. I hurt my hand pretty bad about 4 years ago - not going fast - just a very hard palm down on concrete : it took months to fully recover, as opposed to around a week or two, had I been younger. I was thankful I drive an automatic, as I had to drive myself to the hospital!

My general fitness, albeit being approx. 6 to 8kg overweight, is pretty good. The simple fact is, that the body does not respond in the same way. I want to go back in time and tell the 22 year old me a few things. The only useful lesson from this is : the 42 year old me has enough understanding and philosophical awareness to tell the 42 year old me a few things, rather than waiting until I am 62 !

Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers ...

Yep ... there a few other vids from these guys. I am not remotely into Soccer (oddity for an Englishman) : but I must say, the soccer one is very funny too. The guy has some serious skills.

We are pathetic.

When I was 13, I dislocated my shoulder while doing figure skating jumps with inline skates. I skated the 2 km to the ER, got it fixed and skated home.

A few months ago I stepped on a tree branch and after cussing my sore ankle for an hour, I spent two weeks complaining about it. Because this is internet, I can admit it was not that bad even.

I see someone doing cool tricks and I always think I'm better than them but it is awesomely clear time has gone past me. The injuries are a good clue. We old farts should know our limits.

I truly hope nobody plays this trick on us. It would be cruel.
