anybody on drugs get the "death trip"?

the death trip is a state of utter paranoia you get as a result of doing drugs. i got it a lot in college when i did lsd, and i continue to experience it when i smoke weed (alone). its weird that i dont get this when i'm smoking weed with a girl (i'm relaxed then), but doing drugs alone takes me on a death trip. breathing gets really shallow, you lose control of your mind, you think you're going to die (by an asteroid, by walls crushing in, by an alien, by a stray bullet, once i felt the earth in orbit and thought it was going to crash into another planet, i even thought my towel was a dinosaur that was going to eat me),

nothing i can do except cower in the fetal position until the trip is done. these trips scare the shit outta me. it's like letting your fears take control of you for a few hours. which is why i smoke weed only once a year, just to see if the death trips are gone, but they're still there!

anybody else get them?

I did shrooms a couple years ago and the same thing happened to me. My hands got all clammy, I felt like my body temperature was dropping and reality became very "dry" for lack of a better word. You become consumed by a state of hyper awareness of death and decay. I think in ancient past this same experience has led to the birth of many religions and spiritual discovery. Truly accepting death frees you from your anxiety.

You might find this guy interesting. His lectures are all about the impact of trips like yours on human history.

2 drops of liquid acid (not tabs) alone with lots of blunts and almost ODed with 2 other friends. Felt like we were going to go crazy.

but there was one time i ate like alot of brownies not knowing it had weed in them, and holy shit....i thought i was going to die!!!

at first it felt like somebody was behind you spinning your head, then eventualy when i closed my eyes, i literaly imagined myself jumping off a plane and i was like skydiving or wutever, like i could feel that g-force, and for awhile it was pretty fun! but then that feeling was lasting for hours then i was freaking out thinking my "free fall" experience would never end! then i was like...sort of paralyzed, like if moved one bit, even opening my eyes, i felt sooo sick, like i wanted to puke, then eventualy i puked like i've never puked before...i felt like dieing....

moral of the story, drugs are bad for you!!!!

i aint doing that ever again!

I dunno man they may have been fine. Eating too many weed brownies can really fuck you up/get you paranoid. You keep eating them not realizing what you are doing, because it takes a while for them to be digested. Then all of a sudden it is like

man... i think u need a new dealer. your shit is being spiked with experimental crap. its happening all over america and the UK these days. infact, its been going on for years now. lol.

grow you own, and stick to moderate to heavy indica strains of marijuana. That should eliminate your trips. take a multivitamin in the morning, ie. centrum one a day. have a tablespoon of room temperature honey. also eat something light before you toke it up, like maybe a homemade ham sandwich.

on a personal note, your constant near death trips say alot about you. im no shrink, but you seem to be naturally paranoid, weather you notice it or not. im like that too, but im paranoid in the sense that i always tell myself "im in control of the shit, no ones fuckin' wit me. no one can fuck with me if they wanted to anyways". and like that, i sit my high ass in my lazyboy and chill.

do you have a routine? or a series of things you do prior-during-after smoking?

No, it's a reason to not to LSD.

My high school basketball coach freshman year had a trip in front of a few of us. He just stopped mid-speech and starred off in to space and asked if we just saw that.

We were puzzled as hell and said what. I guess he realized what happened and said "Please, never ever do acid." Apparently he was a big druggie during the hippy era.

The worst I've ever gotten is smoking so much weed in a short period of time and having to just go lay down for 30 minutes. Had that happen about 3 or 4 times. Good times!

I'm with Nico on the weed brownies. Never had that experience off brownies. I just know that brownies fuck you up way more though. At least me.
