micro sd cards for dashcams
Guy's
whats your thoughts on microsd cards for dashcams I have a thinkware, with 8gig, when I tired upgrading, I got something by adata and it didn't like it at all, went for thinkware's own 32gig one and it worked like a dream. Anyone have thoughts on sandisk ? and what kinda spec should I look for: the specs in the manual says' "UHS MicroSD must be used for 16,32 or 64" which thought my ADATA one was compliant with txs |

SanDisk fan here. I use the SanDisk 128GB High Endurance Video MicroSDXC Card with Adapter for Dash Cam and Home Monitoring systems - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, Micro SD Card - SDSQQNR-128G-GN6IA from Amazon for $20. I have a second one I got a local Walmart that is fine but I prefer the SD.

I use sandisk exclusively, everything else fails after a while including name brands like Samsung etc. I have a HUD device that boots off the SD card and the card would get corrupted every few months requiring a format and reinstall. No such issue once I changed to sandisk.
Just make sure to get from an authorized reseller, tons of fake sandisk out there. |

what I was getting, was corruption, every other day the dash would squak something like "SD CARD IS CORRUPT, TRYING TO FIX" when I looked at the card, it had crazy corrupted files instead of mp3's or 4, I forget which LOL
I'll go with the SanD then |

I always buy the small, cheap Sandisk ones. Reason for the cheap part is I will hand it to a cop if it records something. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't. I keep a spare in the glove box.
Same thing for jump drives. In my limited experience, handing a jump drive to a lawyer is like throwing it out the window. Nothing against lawyers, it's just that the things they deal with make me getting my three dollar jump drive back inconsequential. They're disposable.

Old thread, but here's my advice: don't wire your dash cam to record continuously day and night (so you can see if someone scratches your car while it's parked). I did that and ruined multiple SD cards in a matter of days, gave up after that

that said, my wife's same DC and card does that with no issues.
I don't exectly know how parking mode works, but it only seems to "store" on the card any actual events, I don't have 24 hours worth of blank recordings. Her's as been running for several months now with "NO" issues |
