Feels like another attempt to justify the exterior aesthetic design fail that shall not be named.

Interesting on first site, but not a direction to go in. US is SUV crazy and this 90s concept has no wheels.

I like the SAC, very cool idea

I'm sure anticipation is on that 7er with M3/4 front!

Think about it this way, if bmw would have made those grills back then, maybe they would go in the smaller direction vs bigger! Or they wouldn't be where they are today with e46 e92 and f82 gorgeous designs!

that SAV looks like a turd, and probably drives like one too. It's like they tried to see how we can put together a vehicle that's bad at everything. It looks like a dog doing #2 from the back (with honda accord taillights), has less space than a sedan, not even a real convertible top, and those spotlights are comical. Instead of wasting their time on all those "niche" market segments, I'd rather see them make a nice pickup truck, which they can probably a sell a lot more.

The 7 actually looks really classy with those taller (but narrower) grilles compared to the much wider and flashier version on the latest 7-series. Goes to show that tall kidney grilles are not an issue, but the overall execution of the grille design can harm the visual appeal of the entire car if not done properly.

When the new 7er grille came out, I actually thought it was somewhat fitting of the car's status, but now I look back and think maybe BMW had just broken me in by releasing the new X5 and X7 first. However, when I see the new 7er today, I think, "Yep, now the grilles are getting way too big and cheesy."

BMW definitely needs to focus on keeping the proportions of the grille "just right." The new i4 is moving in a better direction.

So cool to see that they hang on to these cars long term. A collector's dream. I wonder if they get serviced regularly and kept in top shape ? ...or just washed for photos and videos.

Oh, and for anyone here to complain about tall grilles....in advance, please shut up!

In a way it reminds me of the mustang/truck from the remake of the Thomas Crown Affair.

There is no fail in place. X7, 4 series, M3 all sell well.

Ah, the car that begun the creation of the X6.
Before marketing went to work and then demanded the car be more practical and have 5 drs which happily The board agreed with.
Twenty years later and we are on the third generation of X6 and still as popular as ever.
This is history, Chris Bangle era history and a fascinating insight into what was happening clandestinely during his tenure.
