PIA can not be added to ED orders... BMW rules. Just in case you didn't know that.

They won't be added at time of European Delivery. Instead, I've arranged for the dealership to install once the vehicle has arrived in the states. That way they fall under factory warranty.

Break-in service complete on ED! ~2050 km and they gave me a sample of the oil as I asked for when I showed up. They were able to read the electronic service data from the car but were unable to input service logs into the computer. Instead they notified BMW NA and it will be taken care of at a US dealer, or hopefully port of entry. Complimentary car wash included, although I think I'm going to have to figure out how to get all the bug guts I've accumulated off the car myself...

Translating what service items were completed, it looks like they did the following work/used these parts:
  • Standard scope (I guess multi-point inspection)
  • Service -running-in check
  • Seal (Part #07-11-9-963-132)
  • Oil filter (Part #11-42-7-854-445)
  • Differential drain plug/O-ring (Part #33-11-7-525-064)
  • SAE 0W-30 motor oil
  • Final drive oil (Part #83-22-9-405-462)

366.41 Euros payable by credit card. I tipped them 20 euros.

nice. I just dropped off my can at BMW Vienna Donaustadt. it was fairly far from my hotel in the center of old town, now I'm on the U-bahn heading back towards the center of Vienna. The reception at the other BMW dealership that was closer did not speak a word of English and even after a few transfers I wasn't able to make an appointment, so now I am here.

@flyingmouse- are you headed to the nurburgring tomorrow?

Wait can I just pay them 40 Euro to wash it for me? pricey car wash but given that it would give me more time to enjoy something else with my wife I'd happily pay.

You don't really have to wash it you know. I have dropped off two and never did a wash.

Did any of you have to provide your social security card at logingout? This is what it says on their website:

http://www.loginout.de/de/dropoff/bmw_european.php

"Please bring all documents provided to you by BMW, your passport as well as your SSN..."

Nope! You just need your passport and ED paperwork you get when you pick up the car.

Just your passport and the package that the Welt gives you so they can get the information on your vehicle.
