thoughts on 535i, 528i

Hi

My wife currently drives an E90 and our lease is up in March of 2010. We have been looking at CPO 535's and 528's. Can anyone give me any thoughts, reviews, etc on theirs?

I have read reviews from edmunds and other various websites, but they aren't what I am looking for. Anyways, any insight, thoughts, etc would be great.

Thanks!

E90 with what engine? If you have 328 and you're satisfied with it, 528 should be good enough for you. On the other hand, if you're coming from 335, 535 is your friend.

328i. We were "lucky enough" to get a 528i as a loaner when her car went into the shop to have the fuel injectors replaced (at 21K miles). We had the 528i for a week and loved it. The 328i IMO has plenty of power for her but the 528i seems really sluggish. After driving it for a week, we have decided on either a 2007 530i or a 2008 535i. I dont know if we would notice much difference in power in the 530i though. We have been looking around at 535s and they still seem to be more then I am willing to pay so we will wait another 4-6 months and see what happens.

I agree entirely about picking the correct engine size. I drove the 535 before choosing the 528. I decided I did not need the extra HP for the money. I am very happy with the 528 and when you need the extra power, I put the transmission in sport/manual and it really adds power when needed.

The loaner you got was 528i, right (not 528xi)? There is a slight difference between rwd and awd models.

correct. It was a 528i, not an XI. I don't want/need AWD. We live in Tulsa, and our winters arent that bad. And the days that it does get really bad, I take her to work. No need risking her and the car because some dumb*** cant drive! She is from california, and isn't used to driving in snow/ice etc
