Bruh, dont even need this video to know this car is awesome. If it wasn't made of limited edition unobtanium, or have a markup manual transmission, and colours made of baby panda tears, I'd be looking to trade my M3.

I had the pleasure of riding in one as my buddy who currently has an F80 M3 JB4'd just picked one up. It completely screams and loves being ran to redline. Obviously its not as quick as the f8x m3/4 but its a completely different animal. Needless to say he is selling his f80.

IIRC Porsche built it specifically because of the press and consumer markets constant whining about Porsche's lack of a real 3 pedal contender. andreas preuninger said something along those lines. mean machine/

If I could be in one, I would.. saw an Agate Gray GT4 at a local dealer and it was perfect. I'd DD the balls off it, too.

I might have a chance to get a VERY lightly used yellow GT4. I think it's too far out of my budget though, but it sure has me thinking.

I've been in the hunt for one of these for the past three weeks.
I did the Porsche Masters Plus school in June (3 days of track time), so I spent an equal amount of track time in the Carrera S (manual and PDK), GT4, GT3 and Turbo S. the GT4 doesn't have anywhere near the amount of grunt that the F80 does, but it has so much going for it. in order of what I was most impressed by: 1. gearbox - short throws, perfectly weighted (heavy), and feels very mechanical (easily the best manual I've ever driven) 2. clutch pedal - engagement point very easy, nice heavy pedal 3. the handling is amazingly predictable, feels solid as a rock 4. exhaust noise 5. throttle response. I look forward to the day when turbos have the same response as N/A motors 6. lightweight bucket seats. the extra $4,700 is worth it for the looks alone. the performance of them in spirited driving is just a massive bonus. 7. interior is beautiful. I like the intimacy of the space, and there are some incredible stitching options you can get. |

My buddy has a '16 GT3 that he let me drive for a while. What a damn gem. If the gt4 is anything like the gt3, then this car is a bargain and another gem and worth the money. I can understand that the car doesn't feel like it has the grunt due to it being an n/a motor and not having a ton of tq like the f8x cars, but you can't match the pure driving experience with the porsche GT cars.

80 mph in second gear...
No denying this is a special car, one not likely to be repeated any time soon: manual only, high-reving NA engine. Wait, that sounds like the Z4M coupe. Only in 2007, I was able to get a discount on my Z4M coupe, while with the GT4, you probably can't get one and if you can, you are definitely paying well over MSRP. And that is despite the fact there were only just over 1800 Z4M coupes for model years 2007-2008 delivered to the U.S.. Times change. The Z4M is a pretty hard-core/stiff car, however; it sounds like the GT4 is more supple and certainly better balanced. In the end, I just like the fact that Porsche built this car.

It's an awesome car straight out from the factory. I had a good chat with a guy who was doing ED picking up his "individual" GT4. Too bad I didn't have a chance to take a ride with him on the ring.

Even compared to a 991.1 C2S he has, the GT4 lacked the grunt that 911 had, yet alone a GT3. However, there is no sweeter handling car than the GT4. The limits are so damn high, but it's such a friendly car to drive. I'd absolutely love to have one. This is one of the few cars that I can totally see where all the hype came from.
