So I had to follow the race on a radio stream because I was in the car. That gives a new meaning but not less exciting.
Sometimes hard to follow as the stream was ment to be alternate comments to the tv footage.

So some drivers/teams had a really good day and some had an awful day.
Awful: Hammy, Max, RUS and the Alpine team (both cars out, what a bummer).
really good: Checo , McLaren and Aston Martin. Those last two really needed a break.
Upside of Max not scoring that many points: the season lasts a little bit longer

I see what it says but how would Checo know if he's exactly 10 car lengths from the pace car?

I had to pause the race on lap 8 as Frankie insisted that he had to go for a walk. Started watching 24 minutes later. Other than the numerous 'offs' & safety cars & the last 10 minutes or so it was a pretty dull race.

1. i don't think anybody had new inters they were trashed in 1-3 sessions of quali. i think they get extra inters for FP3 but that's it.
2. can't get temp into the inters, as one was whining throughout the race - i believe that was the case for everybody

....
3. not sure if anyone could fire up the Ms at the end (softs life too short too risky)

I'm a bit surprised to read people saying it was a boring race.
Plenty of mistakes from seasoned drivers, 2 complete teams in the top 10 that have been struggling all year, driver on pole not winning the race etc etc.
Doesn't sound boring to me..

What needs to happen to make it not boring?

I was wondering if FER stuffed up again by not telling CLC to push to within 5s of PER. did they even have that conversation?

I was wondering that but I don't recall if we heard any radio from FER to CLC.

Surely he can get within 5s if needed to do so. He was stuck like glue most of the race, granted, different tires, but hey I'm not paid the big bucks, but I still can't see any reason why he could not do that

Feels like they didn't care for the result as fastest lap+win in Japan will seal Max's WDC, and a good message to Honda.

Everyone didn't see how Max literally charged up the field from 14th to 7th, and if he didn't lock up on the safety car restart, I think he would've been on podium.
