Lots of good points there. I didn't see a need for my application but it makes sense for yours.

I do have one small piece of the stuff because a shelf I wanted required it; I looked into making something up on my own but it was simpler just to buy a chunk of their "system".
I've re-arranged my garage so many times I lost count. Something works fine for a while, then I upgrade equipment or need someplace for new equipment, or maybe I have a big project coming and my current setup doesn't make sense so I re-arrange.

Theres a lot that goes on in my garage, I spend more time in there than I do the house. I really just need a pole barn shop.

I'm currently in the process of building a separate 12x24 single stall as a storage garage so I can get all the shelving and crap out of my current garage and actually be able to use it. I see all the different setups in this thread and my brain starts running with ideas on how to utilize space.

She didn't know the tonnage, but he wants to give it to me for my garage. I'd have to install an A-coil on my furnace and redo the ductwork. I just may have to insulate for the AC. The problem is the doors I have do not seal well. If I get AC my wife may make me move over there. LOL.

I suggest renting a rotary hammer next time, it'll feel like drilling into wood.

^^^ This!!!

I spent an hour drilling one hole for my lift before renting a roto-hammer drill. It took about 30-60 seconds each for the rest of the holes.

Took me 6mos to pay off. Yet I smiled every time the Snap-On truck pulled into the gas station Wednesday's at 4pm

Don't know what to think here...part of me is happy that I was in the "first toolbox was a 3-door Craftsman" club, the other part of me wants to look down on you for only having the 19" model.

But...still have mine too. Mainly filled with various plastic car part clips

Yeah, can't blame ya for that lol. It's a 4 drawer(mistakenly said 3 draw) and pretty much the same size as yours after I took a better look. I did step up my game a bit since that first box, hope you approve

Need some advice on lighting. I really love the look of the hexagon honeycomb lights, but I was just quoted $1,500 to install them (for the labor only). It would be 3 panels. Not sure what a reasonable install price is, and if I should look at alternative, cheaper lighting options.

on the labor, depends on if they are just doing drop lights from existing outlets or new wiring and lights recessed into drywall. So many factors.

But to me, that sounds high. But of course labor rates are way up now and it could be a complex install.

I do feel sometimes that the quotes I get are reflective in the price of the house. The higher the home value, the higher the labor rates.

I am also really not sure I get the hex lighting, it looks cool, but does it really provider better lighting.

There is a lighting section over on garage journal. Might be worth a jump over there for some research.

Thanks. Yeah I guess it was more for the look than the actual functionality of it. I think since I don't really do much work in the garage, I'll probably get something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RWNC1K2...ding=UTF8&th=1

These will plug into the existing bulb sockets and are motion sensing. I decided it doesn't make much sense for me to spend a ton on lighting.
