Nothing against you either my guy - especially knowing you're a Corvette dude.

It's not that I'm not a fan of them, I'd get a Tesla over any other EV any day of the week. It's just, I'm in/around my business partners Model X and Model S day in and day out and knowing how much the plaid costs, there's just no way to justify it for me. Straight line acceleration gets old real fast - it's why Hellcats are the dumbest cars on the planet.

I don't think people loathe Tesla as much as you think - you're just a pretty big fan which is fine.
I never said I would beat any car with my model 3. I just said I am undefeated during my commute. I almost never use the car on the weekend. The gf racks up more miles when she uses it vs when I use it during the week.

I never encountered an r8 at a light otherwise perhaps I would get beat bad, especially after 80.

I’m not a big Tesla fan as one might think. I find amusement to praise a car people hate lol. It’s good reactions.

They are good cars though. Number 1 ev.

Don't get to big of a head there chief. For less then 2k in mods I made my 184k mile 10 year old 5500lb X5 faster then a model 3 performance. I run into arrogant model 3 drivers EVERYDAY. They are more common here then Hondas.

The look on your face in the rearview mirror never gets old though when you can't pass me on the on ramp. Tell me, what does that feel like knowing you can't do anything to make it faster? For an ICE owner, the possibilities are endless. You on the other hand are beholden to whatever space daddy will allow.

You should come out to autocross then, because the M3P is one of the top 3 cars every time we race.

So you’re saying for 2k your 184k mile 5000lb x5 runs mid 11s?

Also love how people have to modify cars to beat commuter ev cars lol.

You still won’t beat it to 60, and hell you still won’t beat it to 100. Teslas aren’t known for top end except for cars like the plaid in which you’ll never catch unless you have like a 1300whp GTR or something.

But again that’s modified too lol. All to beat a stock ev lmao

Is that kind of like buying a long range model 3/Y and buying the $2000 "performance boost" upgrade?

A 5500lb SUV on a track vs a sedan?? Lol ok I'll play. Can we go more then 5 laps before the model 3 loses power due to battery temps?

How about my X5 vs a model 3 towing a boat with 5 adults up a 7 percent grade race? Adjusting race conditions so you can win is both fun and exciting!

People run teslas at the ring all the time and they do well.

Only thing that suffers are the tires and brakes. Which would be your issue as well since your suv is 5000+ lbs lol

I can buy a $2300 software-only upgrade for mine and have a 740 HP, 800 ft/lb sub 3 second 0-60, and still have a warranty.

Go fish.

Yes, think about that for a second. A 10 year old 184k mile n63 engine (this engine is often on the 10 worst lists!) powered 5500lb tank with just 2k in mods will beat a top of the line model 3 performance with the space daddy upgrade pack. Insulting no?

Your right, I don't beat to 60, we are neck and neck and if I dont pre-spool and shift perfect the tesla will get half a car length on me, BUT by the end of the 1/4 your getting an excellent view of my 10 year old tail lights. Model 3's seem to run out of steam past 80. Like I said, I end up in races with model 3s every week here, they are everywhere and driven aggressively vs Model S drivers which are the opposite.

I will play it out for you since you are the typical arrogant model 3 driver: We both get on the onramp and you think you can typically punch right past me, then the utter shock on your face takes over as you can't pass me, you end up behind me as I pull away (sorry for the smoke, it runs a bit rich at full throttle). Then two things happen: The model 3 either blows past me after I slow back down to to normal speeds or stays a car length behind in the next lane while they furiously google my model to see what the hell is in it. Which one would you do? My bet is speed past me.

"Also love how people have to modify cars to beat commuter ev cars lol." - I LOVE how much this offends you, knowing you can't mod your tesla. I mean I guess you could toss out your seats...

The best part is, If I wanted to I could make it faster then a plaid. It would take about 1400hp and 30+ grand in mods, but it could be done. You however can do nothing... Your locked in, and the clock is ticking....Do you feel it? Soon geo-fenced HP limits will be here. I feel for you brother. Mod envy sounds painful.

The future is geo fenced hp limits my friend. Your not going to be able to do anything within 100miles of any city. Enjoy it while it lasts

https://www.kbb.com/car-news/mercede...nd%20EQS%20SUV.

The annual subscription is available on four all-electric Mercedes models: the EQE sedan, EQE SUV, EQS sedan, and EQS SUV. It knocks a second or less off the 0-60 mph time of each model for that $1,200 annual payment.

Gotta love the future.

Yep, the Teslas at autoX go all day, usually 8 runs or more. But you said faster than an M3P…which i severly doubt on a track.

Older run before I replaced the coil packs but you get the idea, BGM, let me know where you live so we can race, I need to know if both my brake lights are working correctly, she's getting a little long in the tooth at 184k miles now:

Honestly I consider my X5 kinda slow BGM so you bragging about a new EV doing 3.7 0-60 times and beating everyone on a commute is nothing to brag about, espeically when a random old X5 with some mods will beat ya. Maybe nobody is racing you because they know EXACTLY how fast you are already?

I am sorry but when did I say my old X5 is faster then a M3P on the track? This entire discussion was about BGM bragging about smoking everything on his commute. You brought that up so I played along. You piqued my curiosity though and many posts on telsa forums about the M3P being a bag full of suck past 4-5 laps. Did they fix the power loss and battery degradation issue?

Like I said, my personal experience would say: yes.

You said “faster”, so I played along.

As I expected, you were referring to straight lines, where most people get their kicks and a factor in the decline of sports cars, sedans, hatches and wagons. You know you will ultimately lose this battle, EV is simply a much better platform for what you enjoy: straight line acceleration.

As you expected? We never mentioned the track so yes of course it was about straight line captain obvious.

Sir please do take the time and show me where EV dominates in any unlimited drag race vs ICE? From top fuel drag racing to the draggy boards, ALL of the top spots are dominated by ICE with no EV's to be found.

Sure you can cherry pick the 8-9 second range but where are the 4, 5 & 6 second 1/4 mile EV's? Home built 6 & 7second ICE cars are common in drag racing now that will destroy the Rimac at a fraction of the price.

Will 6 second EV'seventually happen? Absolutely, just a matter of time. Just as adding an electric motor to the drive shaft and a mini battery pack to the 6 second ICE now takes it to 5 or lower.

Hybrid is the future for drag racing my friend, EV only will never dominate that is the fact.

That's after he paid $2000 to upgrade his car. Stock it's a ~4.2 second car, I guess it wasn't fast enough stock.
