Shipping items sold on ebay

Im selling a bunch of things on ebay. What is the cheapest way to ship things (just small items - clothes, sun glasses, TI calculator, PS3, etc). There is a post office a block from my house, so Id like to use that, but any other method would work as well. Do I just go to a store and buy a bunch of boxes or what?

Also, I have a ton of overseas people asking me I ship to their country. Is anyone familiar with overseas shipping? Does it get prohibitively expensive? What about to Canda?

If the items are heavy go with FLAT RATE Boxes from the USPS. If your sending big bulking items I would go with UPS. Also Print Labels from Paypal, you will save on delivery confirmation. Last if the item is small go with first class mail with USPS.

when printing labels from paypal, do i need special label paper or do I just print something out on regular paper and tape it to the box?

Don't ever pay for boxes! Any US Post Office will have boxes available for free assuming you are using USPS to mail (boxes are printed with USPS logos). Also, you can always flip the boxes inside out to eliminate the USPS logos if need be. Go to USPS.com and use their shipping calculator to figure out the most cost effective solution for weight/recipient zip code/delivery times. As mentioned above if you use PayPal you can save on USPS delivery confirmation.

Canada isn't as bad as you think. Sometimes first class to Canada is even cheaper than sending something priority to the states.

I would be leery to ship things overseas unless you can track it. If not, there would be no way to confirm delivery, and they could file a false dispute and you'd be screwed.

shipping overseas is usually out of the question...its generally too expensive, sometimes even more then the item itself

the potential of being scammed by someone overseas is greater than dealing with someone in USA/Canada

With priority mail you get free boxes from USPS, which start around $5.50 or so without a tracking # (usps calls it "delivery confirmation") or insurance, and go up based on the weight and distance. If you have anything of substancial weight than you can use their flat rate boxes if it will fit inside of them for just under $10. If you have something small and light (dvd, sunglasses, etc) then I would just ship it through first class mail for under $2 with one of those padded envelopes that you can buy for under a dollar. I use to be an ebay whore that would wholesale cosmetics and fragrances all through college... I use to be at the post office everyday... ahhh, memories.

i remember their is like a feature on ebay where you can order USPS mail boxes for free. i have ordered before and it really did come. there are quite a few sizes to choose from too. the boxes that came also had ebay logos stamped on.

best way is usps. free boxes and always do the flat rate priority for $10 and takes about 3-5 days max for delivery. also use the delivery confirmation (tracking) for an extra $1.50. i love usps for cheap things but when more expensive things come and i need a shipper more reliable def fedex but usps for everything else
