Problems with microsoft media player:

Lately, every time i use microsoft media player (hello apple) my internet connection is lost. i then have to unplug the modem power cord from the outlet, wait 15 seconds and then it comes back online and everything is ok (until the next time i use the media player). anybody else ever have this problem? i dont use the media player that often, but when i do its a pain in the ass. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.
