Best Digital Camera?

I turn to the E90 posters one more time for some advice. I have seen many photo posts with many different cameras used. What would you say is the best digital camera to purchase for under $1,000.

It seems that many members here are buying the Nikon D50 SLR and the Canon Rebel XT 350D.

I want a good camera, but also something fairly simple to use too.

What do you all think?

Since you're asking the best..this is one of them

Check around for the price though

Otherwise, I say go for the new Canon 30D, and pair with couple of L-Lens, you'll defintely be getting the best quality without breaking the bank

Would highly recommend the Canon Digital Rebel XT. I recently upgraded to the XT from a Canon SD 500 (which I also liked). The XT is one of the best out there.
