I hope she makes it, but the surgeon did confirm through the brain, but wont say what part. If she survives I assume she will retire, if she does live I would assume with very limited ability the rest of her life.

Of course the focus of the efforts needs to be on medical attention and on security if the threat is not contained. As I cannot affect either and have little information about that, it is reasonable to speculate on what might become of her public office.

Fox news is reporting that Laughtner had serious problems with "illiteracy" in district 8, and with the Fiat Currency, he apparently believed in a gold or some sort of hard currency. I.E. he is a crazy person.

Also, apparently several people returned fire at the shooter, they don't know details. This is an incredibly gun-friendly state, and Gifford's was a strong advocate of 2nd ammendment and was a long-time gun owner.

No. He shot several people, so he is a crazy person. From what has been posted about his writing, he doesn't look to be illiterate. He does appear to be off balance.

No, he was not illiterate, he was enraged with illiteracy in District 8, where I live here in Tucson (Although from looking at his posts his grammar was something to be desired). Even if he had not shot anyone, it is clear that this is a very troubled and angry individual. He was in the Marana school district in Arizona and attended Pima community college.

As you all probably know, Federal Judge John Roll, a long time judge and was involved in several controversial immigration issues was shot and killed. He is a long-time Arizona resident and a graduate of the University of Arizona. Rest in Peace.
