2004' 525i transmission error

My E60 have a transmission error message for the second time, first time led on, i took to a BMW specialist for checkup. computer shows the 2nd-3rd gear slip, he reset the computer for me and check trans fluid was fine. He told me to keep ruinning and see if error pops up again. 2 days ago it did show error again and he said need to replace the trans valve and trans computer, cost me $1600.00 to do that. Is he saying the right parts to replace? can anyone help.
