Overcooked it like crazy.

My real concern is... what about the Coupe?

No more C-Coupe after 2023, final year for V8. CLE will replace C and E-Coupe/Cabs into one model like the old CLK. Powertrains for the CLE are unconfirmed at the moment.

Wow. I suppose we truly are entering a new era. I imagine they would use their v6 in this new coupe-variant as an alternative.

MB doesn't make a V6 anymore, I assume you mean the I6. The rumor is the CLE will be powered by an I4 and I6, but no AMG rumors or spy shots yet.

My apologies. For some reason, I was under the impression that they still made a v6

I don't see those cars at the track, but I see quite a lot of AMG GTs being tracked. Bit of a different customer base for that one.

I could not have been any less interested in a C 63 than this one. Holy shit does it look uninspiring and akin to a C 200 AMG Line. But that's also due to melted-banana-look of the base car (and the previous gen sedan/wagon). Current-gen Merc design language is a miss, imo.
Loll reminds me of my buddy who got a C43 solely because he wanted the loudest car possible for the price. Added an AMG exhaust on top of that. Doesn't care one bit about handling, steering feel, etc. Drives with one hand on the wheel and always turns really slow.

Looks-wise this is pretty consistent with AMG in my opinion. They have always been incredibly understated cars. What bothers me here is that the C43 looks 99% identical to the C63 now. With the outgoing model you could easily tell one from the other. The C43 looked identical to a C300 with upgraded wheels.

The Merc hybrid setup really is quite ingenious. A very modular setup, they could basically bolt behind any of their ICE powertrains. It consists of a 6kwh battery and a EDU(that houses electric motor, two speed gearbox, lsd). Merc uses the same setup on their AMG GT 63E. Twin turbo V8 and 9G-tronic transmission is conventional, after the driveshaft they add the battery pack/EDU. In the case of the C63E, they added an electrically assisted turbo to the 4cylinder. Definitely a turbo tech that other brands will adopt. We will get a good look at next gen M5 powertrain on Sept 27 with the XM, said to be 25kwh battery pack with the electric motor sandwiched between ICE and ZF gearbox. BMWblog said the XM will come in just under 6,000lbs.

It’s a big SUV, what did you expect. RS Q8 is probably smaller and is not a hybrid and weighs 5,500 lbs.

Sorry I didn’t put more info in the text, was quickly replying at work haha

The graph is of the old CLA45 vs the new one. The engine in the new C63 is based on the new CLA45 but with a bit more power - 350kw compared to the 310kw on the graph

We will see what the official number is, right now all that was said was "around 2700kg". Wasn't expecting anything, cars are going to get heavier for the foreseeable future. BMW won't escape the added weight of going hybrid. I'd be surprised if the M5 is under 5000lbs(barring some extensive use of light weight materials). Panamera E-hybrid is over 5000lbs and has a smaller 17.9kwh battery.
