Thanks for posting. Added my comments to the docket. I recommend everyone to comment as well, whether they are for or against regulation as stated by the FTC.

And i didnt say it right, dealers are asking their employees to enter comments AGAINST the proposal. They want to be able to have a phony price advertised online, offer/require “upgrades” that dont have any consumer benefit and all the usual tricks.

Hard disagree. Government regulates because corporations and businesses can't be trusted to deal in good faith.

Ah yes, so one generic economics course from college makes you an SME. More like Dunning-Kruger effect, and not even close to the valley of despair.

While true, the regulation is only as good as those voted into power. And with today's crop of policy makers on BOTH sides of the aisle....

Did you read the Jungle?

You know much about the exploitative labor in the US in the early 20th Century?

Do you know about the tragedy of the commons?

How would the interstate system have been built?

Do you like the protections that the military provides us?

Lol.
If you think it works like that for the majority of people, you are extremely naive.

Did we find the 1 out of 1000 people that actually likes buying a car from a dealer?

Yep, even if you are experienced and comfortable in dealing with their BS as many members here are, who doesn't have a friend or relative that's gotten taken advantage of?

Thanks. Sounds like helpful consumer-oriented concepts. What are the other side’s arguments?

Both can be true. Yes people should just say no and yes we have a bunch of people who will still fall for it just like they fall for nigerian princes.

I don't claim to know enough about the down stream effects of such regulations, but on the face it doesn't seem bad to enforce dealers to advertise legit prices and not push junk products. However I also feel the days of dealers are numbered.
