Although I did spank the shit out of a Lexus 350 getting on the Interstate Tuesday Night. From the Light I was all casual then we merged right to hit the On ramp, and I took the outside lane of the ramp, I hear him for a little bit feathering the throttle and doing his best as I drove around the outside... Left him about 5 car lengths back at the second apex all I hear are his tires howling as he struggled to stay in his lane. Never saw em' in my mirrors after that.

I imagine his wife or girlfriend in the passenger seat asked him why he couldn't keep up with that BMW in the corners and he was busy making excuses while wondering the same thing.

"unsafe start" is what I've heard it called before.

I know they are but it's still a neon. I swear, people buy a neon with a turbo and automatically think they walk on water. They try to race just about anyone!

My friend raced his SRT4 in Speed World Challenge Touring Car last year...they can be very very fast.

I've heard of someone getting a ticket for "excessive display of acceleration."

Not surprised. I don't think you can pound the pedal right at the light.

Respect

I respect that you honored your father's wishes, specially about letting your sisters driving the new car. Your dad is smart.

However, some rules need to be enforced for the betterment of mankind.

NEVER LET ANYONE GIVE YOU A RICER FLYBY.

Honor your dad's wishes and the rule above makes you a good citizen

you can do all you want, call it an srt4, race it whatever. its still a neon. or if you want to get technical, call it a Plymouth neon. lol. if someone wants to race, i usually let them rev there engine and just take off, to be seen moments later pulled over, as i beep and wave.

He was already beat up about daddy buying him the car, and being a spoiled rich kid.

This thread was about him NOT racing another car, and getting props for it.

I don't recall your comments that prompted your being , but the OP demonstrated maturity and responsibility and if you exhibited the same behavior, I'm sure you would have received praise as well.

I had a prelude and a eclipse gs-t pull up on each side of me at a light. The prelude revved his engine up pretty loud. So I did the same. Then the kid looked at me and kinda pointed around me as if saying "no that is for the car next to you". I thought it was pretty funny. At least he respected the speed under the hood. Being no other cars around I gave him a display as well.

That is a good story, but that was only the first test. Next time it could be a guy in a 330i calling you a f** for driving a 3 series convertible. I pray your self control will hold out.

It's not a very good picture, but did it look anything like this Neon?

It trapped 121.93 mph at 12.694 seconds running against me. Compare that to my best time out of six runs 103.23 mph at 13.633 seconds.

Don't do this in front of your friends. They could be laughing at you (except at a drag strip, because there everybody knows the best car to own is often not the fastest) rather than the "ricer" who tried to get you to race. It could be a 335i taunting a Ferrari. The Ferrari should ignore the 335i. It's comparing apples to oranges.

Race against fair competition. The best place to do this is on the drag strip or the track.

Good for you for being responsible on the street.
