How to Clear Historic DTC Code?

How does one go about clearing a historic DTC code?

I had a P0050 code on my 2008 528i. I changed out both upstream oxygen sensors with OEM Bosch sensors, and cleared the OBDII code. The car has been driven for 1100 miles now, and it's time for a CA smog check. When running the OBDII scanner on it, my car exhibits a Historic Fault Code P0050.

From what I understand, Historic Fault Codes cannot be cleared with a scanner, nor can it be cleared by disconnecting the battery. If this is true, what is the method to clear the code? If it's a drive cycle, what is it? Where can I find information?
