The rear of this thing reminds me of a Pacer IMO.

The current gen of the Q7 looks sick in the right trim and color combo. This looks like a station wagon...

It needs to be raised to the Range Rover's height for proper evasive maneuver in case you run into some unruly bikers on your way to the mall.

400 lbs lighter IS great. I'm looking for a Touareg which is rumored to have the same reduction for 2015, but not the Q7 booty.

That is awful! I had hoped that the Q7 would be an evolution of the current car which looks great in S Line form, etc. This is bland and non-descript. It could be a Toyota imho. I absolutely won't look at this for the wife's new vehicle now even though a diesel hybrid is on the cards. Disaster from Audi.

The only thing that makes sense is that Audi will be releasing a Q9. This vehicle cannot at the top of the luxury SUV market with those looks. Its especially telling that this vehicle is smaller than the vehicle that it replaced. Every large SUV needs ample seating for 7. I doubt this vehicle offers it.

Audi's design language is such a yawn-fest. BMW at least switches it up a bit. Props to Mercedes for actually redesigning the front and differentiating most of the rears of their cars.

Other than the styling which is subjective and generally going to be hated by BMW forums no matter what, the car is 700lbs lighter, yet has more space, more efficient engines while still very fast for its class (0 to 60 went from 7.7s to 6.1s). Oh and the interior looks fantastic with the same gauge cluster as the TTS. Why is this good for BMW in any respect other than the next BMW X5 will have to be even better?
I'm not passing judgment on the styling till I see it in person. The grill is pretty hideous though lol. The whole auto industry is applauding Audi (at least for the technical details) but as no surprise we here at bimmerpost want to bash the competition every chance we get. http://m.autoblog.com/2014/12/12/aud...oit-auto-show/ |

On fire would seem like the only acceptable answer. The Q7 is naff as is, the new one will be better because it can't be worse.

Exterior reminds me of the 2015 Highlander:

Volvo will be laughing all the way to the bank, the XC90 really is a game changing vehicle, Audi, BMW really messed up with there X5 and Q7 replacements. Neither advance on their predecessor much at all.

Previous Q7 looked best or all in class, being so bullish. New one has technical advances, but design is a total let down, new X5 is the same, but even worse has no technical advances and is more a huge monster facelift. Next Cayenne should be awesome.
