To go a step further....I rarely pay to see a movie; this ups my asshole level another 1.2 points.

I think it's one of my favorite things to do and I have passed this along/share it with my kiddos. That said, the only time I hit theaters is for major blockbuster or largely action films such as this. I will go, I will enjoy it

As for the not paying part, I pay enough for all the damned subscription services. I can't think of one I don't pay for

Same! I love a good movie. I even love a bad movie, if it fits the right category. Some of my favorite films are the black exploitation movies from the 60's & 70's. Films like Dolemite, Car Wash, Black Belt Jones, etc. My kids have also adapted to this mindset. Sadly, it seems like when a movie is released that I actually want to see, I miss it at the theaters. The movies I end up seeing at theaters are movies everyone else wants to watch. Case in point, the last movie I saw at a theater was Jungle Cruise. Disney films are not my cup of tea. I can appreciate the work/effort and artistry that goes into the Disney magic, but I'm a little dark for Disney films. HUGE horror movie buff. I prefer the movies with a complete twist at the end and the main character ends up dying or some crazy shit. Movies with happy endings and everyone gets what they want just disappoint me.

From the limited stuff shown in those videos I saw a lot of stuff that looked like the same exact scenes from the first film. Hopefully it's something new.

I will definitely watch it because... well Matrix... but I doubt I'll watch it in theaters. I mean I can't even remember the last time I went to the theater, even in the before times. I think maybe one of the new Star Wars movies before they started pumping one out every few months.

Want to build a theater in the basement, hopefully it will be done by the time I see this.

Hmmm the full trailer makes it look even more like a remake of the original matrix vs matrix 4. Half the scenes are straight up from the original with john wick and some knock off morpheus and no agent smith.

I'll still watch it, but don't have high hopes.

Exactly. Many of the clips are things we have all seen before: The helicopter crashing into the building, lips seal up, even the agent hitting the person, the knock off morpheus fighting in the dojo again, focusing so much on the blue pills when in the original it as a super short scene, the hall way fight scene at the end of M1, Neo stopping bullets again, follow the white rabit, it is all 100% repeat. Couldn't think up anything new? Really? Something happened and everyone forgot about everything? It seems to go against the ending of M3 where Neo has he Jesus moment. Hopefully I am wrong and it's a good movie.

He did not cut his hair so yes it just looks like John Wick in the Matrix and I have never even watch a single JW movie.

and yes matrix 2 was just ok, 3 was horrific. I have no hope for this movie. I do assume there will be plenty of social justice warrior themes and pandering throughout. I just hate it when people add it in to movies and it does not feel natural.

There is obviously something to do about the blue pills and his shrink having blue glasses. Probably some theme they will run with through the movie. But again why focus on the pills so much, it was only in the 1st matrix movie not in the 2nd or 3rd, and in a short scene.

I've never seen any of them.., just scenes here and there. Honestly don't know if I'll care to finally sit down to watch them all. Have too much going on, besides even trying to find time to catch up on movies/shows

Correct. Because Mr Smith had become "self aware" and wanted to take over everything! So main machine gave Neo an "upgrade".

This new movie will also have prequel elements. The origin of Morpheus!

I honestly don't expect anything groundbreaking like the first movie was. I'm not sure any type of original reality altering idea is left. So the movie will have to rely on a good story. Which if it's taken this long to add to the story better be fuckin epic. Which is the major problem with trying to bring something back from the dead ... Bill & Ted I couldn't even make 15 minutes of watching.

TBH, I think they would be further ahead by an all new cast and doing a 100% prequel. If the actors are the same as we remember from the originals, nothing else will matter and we'll fixate on those errors. No matter how good the story is.

God I hope they don't fuck this movie up...

My fear is it looks like they are just regurgitating so much from the 1st two movies...like entire scenes are just done slightly differently. There is so much they can do with the Matrix universe...
