It's a heated Intex 6x2 metre held up by metal stilts, easier to put it up than taking it down when the weather gets colder.

I opted for a 6/28 in-person closing for our SC property. We had the option of doing a remote closing, but there are a few pre and post-closing things that I want to do while we're down there.

We are driving down the weekend before the Monday morning closing, and then driving a few hours in the afternoon to a regional airport for a flight that will drop us 5 minutes from home (while The Mighty Dodge will spend a few days in long-term parking in SC). That Friday afternoon, we have a return flight for the July 4th holiday weekend, which we will use to take care of a few other things and then drive home. All of the reservations are in place, and the only outstanding time-critical matter on my closing Gantt chart is getting the title search results back by 6/18 so the title insurance can be issued.....

Back in Feb, USPS lost a watch that I had sold on ebay. I have been annoying the crap out of them, including emailing Dejoy, the VP of customer service, and the post master general. I finally got a call today, and they offered to refund my shipping. I just said, "no thanks, I am going to keep annoying you daily" and hung up. A few minutes later I got an email from them and they want proof of value. Its only $280 but its the principal of it. I cant wait to get that check and have it framed.

My little bro went fishing with me.
I had almost not gone thru with reserving our spot on the boat because he sent out some extremely hurtful messages to all us brothers and my dad, ragging on my dad. But I thought about it, and decided I'd have some time with him alone on the boat.

I can't be sure the damage is reversible, but at a minimum at least he apologized to dad.

Nice! I would have liked to do it in person and we will be there Monday anyways but I wasn't sure if we were going to be ready to go up there. We actually aren't ready yet and my father in law is coming with us and he can't go until after Friday. Since we have dogs it's kind of a pita since we can't really fly and have to find pet friendly places to stay. Plan is to leave Sunday and get there by Monday to get keys and start unpacking whatever we can manage to fit in the truck. Also brining along one of those mattress in a box to sleep on for now.

I guess I could have flown up there by myself for the closing and flown back, but might have been a waste since apart from wiring the $$ I didn't really have to do anything today.

Good luck with your place, sounds like everything is going smoothly. After looking on and off for probably like 3 years it still doesn't feel quite real to me. Fingers crossed it all works out as it has in my mind.

Today is a good day because...

I remembered to clean the lint filter in our clothes dryer.

Met a friend of mine for beers at a local bar (outside patio). First time in 10 months or so. Felt almost back to normal. Looking forward to doing it way more often now.

So crazy to me....we have been essentially wide open in Florida for almost a year and so many other places are still "restricted"
I can't even fathom the amount of mental damage the country/world has encountered

I feel the same way. When someone says I'm finally going out to eat or just seeing my family or hanging out with friends for the first time. I'm like wait, what??? It's really sad that people have been so isolated & so strange to me. As you said, a lot of mental damage.

Honestly, I'm sick of it. Up here, the damage done to our children is almost incalculable. My oldest (6) went from being super popular, always talking with kids to not even looking them in the eye even more, completely uninterested in playing with any kids, or even talking to them on zoom calls for school.

It's sad, we're both frustrated, written letters to our politicians, and it isn't even as though we're honestly being strictly compliant with any of the rules they came up with in the first place, but despite that, the impacts have definitely been felt. I can't even imagine the kids of parents who have strictly complied with shutting off from society and telling their kids they can't see anyone because they might get sick. I fear they are going to come out of this really messed up.

And of course, there is the far reaching effects on the rest of the population who were already struggling from a mental health perspective - this has been terrible for them.

It's really adding up with the continued lockdowns, summer will just make it worse. Can't imagine what it's like with children.

Hope your kids pull through.

The Girls treated me to an afternoon at the Spa for a pedicure as a gift for my up-coming b-day. It felt so good... Had my toenails done in Bazooka bubble gum pink.

The dealer phoned me to say the Wrangler Rubicon had finally arrived. Only ordered it back in January for delivery in April....sigh. But it is here, so that is a good day. Time to find some trails.

What are your thoughts on a man getting a pedicure?
