Should I buy an M5?
Hey guys! I bought a 2007 525i with 160,000 miles almost 2 years ago as my first car and as much as I love it, I think it’s time for something newer. It’s getting close to 200k miles and there’s a few things that need to be fixed.
I want to buy used again and got approved for $30k but want something closer to $15k for a lower monthly payment. I found a 2008 M5 in my price range but live in Pennsylvania so I’m not sure going with RWD again would be the best for me. What would you guys recommend? |

It sounds like cost is a concern for you. If that's true, stay away from M cars. They're great to drive but require $$ ton keep them happy.

Yeah, you'll need that other $15k just to keep it maintained. Going from a 525 to an M5 is a big step. Perhaps consider a 535 or 550 instead? The purchase price is just the starting point with these cars.

Agree with this post. The repair costs for M cars are usually higher than non-Ms. but if you do go M look for the signs of a well cared car, exterior and interior well taken car of, owner is mature and not a racer. Good luck
