Thanks! It wasn't always that way. It takes time and practice, like most things.

Cooking for me is an outlet, so maybe it could help with the funk. Try something that stretches your skills or palate a bit. There are many good videos on YouTube, which makes it much easier than years ago. Progress, not perfection is the goal!

Thanks. Yes it does take some time, but probably less time than driving to a restaurant, waiting for a table, waiting to place the order, waiting for the food, eating, waiting for the bill, then driving home.

Plus making food at home is cheaper and better than most restaurants!

Meal/menu planning a week or so ahead of time helps to make things more manageable.

Totally agree, we eat in mostly just going to a few of our favoured restaurants for special occasions also only one can drink spirits and wines when then driving home.

Lol, no. If you want to build lean muscle mass you should avoid those foods as much as possible.

I'm probably not really qualified since I'm not a hardcore health and fitness guy like some others around here, though I stay in decent shape. There an entire sub forum for this stuff.

Pasta and most carbs in general are foods you should minimize, if you're trying to lose fat and/or gain lean muscle. Usually chicken breast is a popular staple that checks that box as well as wild salmon. I guess chickpeas is a good one though I don't eat them. Needless to say processed foods and sugar are a NO. I personally try to avoid PUFA oils (primarily seed derived oils) as much as I can though it can be very difficult as most foods, especially junk food contains them.

Regular exercise is another obvious component but you already know that. I'm sure you can find plenty of info over here:

Spaghetti night. Added some beef, onions, and garlic to some vodka sauce. Topped with mozzarella and parsley. First time making spaghetti. Not bad.

Last night pork chops and grilled corn with twice baked potatoes. Tonight spicy chicken stuffed with havarti, provolone and Black Forest ham.

Whoops, forgot the pork chops!
