What books are you reading?

I just started reading "Who moved My Cheese" by Dr. Spencer Jonhson. I'm not sure what it's about since I literally just started to read it . But, my business management teacher recommended it and said it's got really good life teaching lessons that he has used throughout his life. So, I thought I'd give it a go.

The Killing of Reagan by Bill O'Reilly. This is part of "The Killing of..." series of books.

They are all very well researched and full of insight.

Essays of Warren Buffett, by Cunningham

It's a good survey of WB's general ideas. Most are useful, some less so.

My younger brother wanted to buy that book at the bookstore. But, we just picked it up from our library.

What's that book about if you dont mind me asking?

I tend to read for escape, my favorite author for the last couple of years has been Jeff Wheeler. I just recently finished up his Grave Kingdom series.

It tracks Ronald Reagan's life from his Hollywood days, his marriages, entry into politics, etc. While in parallel tracking the life of John Hinckley Jr. and his attempt at assasinating Reagan.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series for anyone interested in history. O'Reilly really does his research for each book.

It’s a quick read and you can learn a lot from it. I’ve had many of my long time employees read it.

The Mechanic: The Secret World of the F1 Pitlane.

Completely awesome insight into the 'away from the track' world of F1 during the 2000s.

After watching the movie "Wonderland" the other day, I just started reading "Surviving Wonderland" after I Googled John Holmes girlfriend age while this all happened and saw she had written a book about it.

Disturbing to say the least.

I only read biographies, the last I read was Deborah Harry’s (Blondie) which is a great read for a fan.

Essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson. It's a battle to get through but I can't imagine being able to write so brilliantly.

What a great writer gone way too soon. I read the entire series. The new guy that picked up the Mitch Rapp story line after Flynn died tries but it’s just not the same.

You're right. He was a great writer. Fortunately I'm only 5 books into his series so I have a ways to go. I finished Lee Child and Robert Crais (Elvis Cole and Joe Pike. These characters are everything I'm not so I can fantasize.

I thought I read all Lee Childs books but they were all Jack Reacher. Never heard of Robert Crais. Will have to check him out.

I've read several others of this series, but have yet to read the Reagan book. All of the books are about people who are familiar to us, but the authors are able to add in contextual details about the "life and times" that add fascinating insights to the stories.

I just finished "Custer and Crazy Horse" by Stephen Ambrose. Kind of the same idea .... I've read about the details of Custer's last stand since I was young, but this book added so much more insight in the lives of each. It was a great book.

I've just started "Empire of Shadows - the Epic Story of Yellowstone" by George Black.

Robert Crais is a good writer. His characters, Joe Pike (x-cop and Elvis Cole x-military) are private investigators in LA. Just like other good characters, they beat on bad guys.

Yep, I've read several in the series, including "Killing Crazy Horse,", and enjoyed each one. I will have to take a look at "Empire of Shadows." Sounds good.
