Never ever buy a BMW e60 530i M Sport

The list of faults in under 20,000km include,

Broken differential - most likely cause of the accident
BST issues constantly
Almost yearly battery replacement - parasitic drain that could not be found. I even sat in the vehicle and waited for it to go to sleep, no engine running, key not even in the ignition and transmission warning light came on, unbelievable. Start the car, instantly went into safe mode. Drive for a couple of minutes then stop and turn off the car and restart and issue would go away. Replaced the battery issue went away.
Transmission required replacing as main drive shaft damaged
Steering wheel buttons not all working
Front right lower control arm would loosen
Mass air flow sensor - replaced
Headlight level control - replaced
Servotronic failure
Engine misfire
Micro power module - replaced
Fuel pump - replaced
Crankcase pressure regulator - replaced
DISA valve - replaced
iDrive issues
Windscreen extremely brittle - replaced
CD stacker stopped playing all discs
Fuel tank split and leaked fuel rapidly
exhaust sensors - replaced
Window regulator - replaced
Could not even listen to the radio when the car was stopped without the battery draining in less than ten minutes, even a brand new battery.
Alternator - replaced
Roof lining collapsing
Sunroof rattles

This is not even the complete list of issues with the vehicle.

As no BMW dealer in the area I downloaded ISTA-D so I could read the codes and discover any issues with the vehicle, then have them fixed. However, the list just kept growing. In the fives years I owned the vehicle it was off the road for months and months.

Stay away from this model, if you have one sell it ASAP and get something else, like a Merc or Audi.

Garage List
2021 BMW m550i  [0.00]
In contrast I owned a 2006 530i sport from 66000 miles (2009 to 2016), and enjoyed it.

Replaced water pump & thermostat at 135000 miles, and brake system at 150000. Drove it 22hours on the last day to trade in to a larger family SUV at 180000 miles.

As of 2021, I am back in a 5 series (m550) and enjoying every time I drive it.

Apparently the guy does not know a thing about BMWs, the thing is that e60 530i index had 2 different engines, m54/n52 (probly few more like n53?) were both excellent in reliability except for KNOWN and minor stuff,

And If you buying something without any sanity checks and then crying about it, not even adding year/mileage then, mister...is no valid complains,

PS. I was not triggered by it, but I got to say, is 100% true situation when talking about middle-upper middle trio:
BMW > Audi > Mercedes

Reliability wise, performance wise, drivability wise
