Good buying choice?

I have been lurking these forum for the past month reading about everything BMW. Really wanted to get a F30 335 but my credit isn't any good rn so I'm limited to buying cash and I've found the perfect 2014 328i xdrive listed for $25k.

https://www.carmax.com/car/14181088

I know it's from CarMax and I tried finding a CPO with similar options and price but nothing so far. Now this car is located in Denver Colorado and am having it transferred to Connecticut which will be here in around 28 days.

What do you guys think?

Did you buy it yet? You don't mention the price.

If you haven't bought it already, check out these 448 2014 328i CPO cars within 500 miles of you. See if your deal is better than these choices. A CPO car is a good choice because the price includes and extended warranty. I don't know about the carmax warranty coverage or price but you can check it compared to CPO coverage.

You are getting an Xi. A lot of owners say that getting the dynamic handling package is a smart choice for the Xi. If you can find one of these 448 CPO cars that has Xi and DHP then check it out and see if the color and other features are right for you.

Whatever you decide, good luck!

Here is the link. Enjoy.

No haven't bought it yet and the price is $25k. The carmax coverage sounds pretty good and it cost around $2600 or so and covers up to 4y/75k. I'll update the post with the price. I will take a look as i usually limit it to a 100 mile radius.
A must have feature for me is the halo led headlights.

Check Route 66 for extended warranty prices as well.

Do check these cars out. BMW CPO cars include warranty so for a fair comparison, your $25k is really $27,600. Regarding your 100 mile radius, its too small for getting a good selection if your specifications are rigid.

Look, if your heart is set on buying this car, go for it. The $25k price seems in line with the packages and options on the car. DHP is the significant one missing but you might have a hard time finding it anyway.

Good luck!

Am seen some pretty good choice but they are right around $30k. I'll see if i can increase my budget to $30k. Might be able to do that by the time carmax delivers the car to CT.

I think that you need to think about why your credit is not good. Depending on the answer, you shouldn't be focusing you efforts on buying a BMW right now.

I know why my credit isn't good and I'm working on fixing it. My previous car got totaled last month and am in need of a new car but don't want to deal with a loan right now.

buy a cheaper car?

eta: if the bad credit is due to a chapter or forclosure nothing but time will help. if your credit cards are maxed out take that 25-30k cash you have and pay them down. the best thing i ever did for my credit was pay off all cards. went from a 625 to 790 in a few months

Geez, my kid just saw a 2011 Mazda 3 2.4L 6-MT S Grand Touring completely loaded up with 37k miles for $9990. He ended up with a 2014 CPO Mazda 3 but still, that's a really nice like new car that cannot hurt you. Something like this might be a better way to go. Heck, I saw the photos and I was almost wishing I needed a car.

I only have one a collection account of $2500 and that's it. I had no open credit cards as I had paid gem of but that hurtled my credit also. I am in the process of having the collection account being pay for deletion and also I getting a new credit to have revolving credit on my account.

This is the car I want and I've have been saving up for it. This cash is cash I can spend and it doesn't affect my savings in anyway.

The money isn't a issue for me as I have been saving up for a new to me car a while now.

If you have to "work on fixing" your credit, again, a BMW is probably not the wisest choice.

In working I mean writing good will letters trying to get things deleted of my credit. Why you say it's not?

It's the OP's money. If he wants to spend it on a BMW that's his choice. I would steer clear of the x-Drive unless the car has the dynamic handling package. Suspension is just too soft. Whatever you decide make sure you get a warranty.

Can the suspension be upgraded?

Of course it is. But he came here asking for advice, offering up his bad credit situation. And that's what he's getting. If he wants do do whatever he feels like, then he doesn't need to solicit advice; or don't mention the bad credit--then no one will comment on it.

Paying off your credit cards don't hurt your score. Canceling them does because it deletes credit history. No credit history = low credit score. Pay off your cards, use them once and awhile, pay the full balance each month or keep a small balance. Show good paying habits (no late payments etc) and regular activity. Your credit score will shoot up. My credit score was in the shitter at one point. They even slashed my limits. Now I have top tier credit and qualify for the best rates available.

I know that now. Had a few late payments and closed credit cards which seriously affected my credit history.

Something seems very fishy about that car. The wheels are not stock, they are very old BMW wheel style #57 that were standard on model year 1999-2006 E 53 X5. I would be curious as why the wheels were replaced and with something 8-10 years old?

Inside also looks disgusting. There is dust and looks like little splashes/sticky spots and residue around the buttons you can see. I would not buy a car that the seller didn't at least have well detailed.
