Just tried Space Dust myself, via my wife who has a thing for sour beers and related - too much like orange rind for me, even as a rarity (Stone IPA is my main beer these days; DK when 'IPA' started to mean fruit'n'spice).

And good to see I'm not the only person who gets volume discounts. I usually add a couple of forays over into VT to my Adirondack drives - the savings can easily pay for the gas for the day. It's like my drinking is paying for my driving (how's that for man-math). Unfortunately, they now do tax, but some brands run 5-10 cheaper, and they often have sales that add another 5+ off. Ardbeg and Laphroig are fav's that are on sale this month, but I'm already stocked up.... https://802spirits.com/price_guide/w...#singleforeign.

Sort of, but only the early bit to Bennington at the end of a day's run. Most of my driving is up in the ADK, like on 8, 10, or 30. I am hoping to get to do the better, eastern part of this trail in early April if the weather holds (work is sending me to CT).

I don't know why I clicked on your link. I don't. Now I'm just upset.

$42.39 USD for Ardbeg 10yr?

That goes for a little over $100 here. Even with the exchange, that's about half price.

Over in France the Lagavulin 16 was only $55 just about everywhere.

Ahh, I see you are trying to rub salt in the wounds. That's nice, old friend, that's nice.

I'm leaving this thread now, before I get depressed and start drinking. My overpriced Scotch.

on work travel in oakland this week and stopped in belcampo for dinner. we sat at the bar waiting for a table and i ordered a pour of elmer t. lee. it's one of my favorites but tough to find anywhere on the east coast.

so i started geeking out over whiskey with the bartender for a solid 10-15 minutes (bar wasnt that busy)....and without warning or saying anything at all, he pulls a bottle of thomas handy sazerac and gives me a free pour! never had that happen with an allocated / "holy grail" whiskey... anyway...i highly recommend belcampo if you're in oakland! ask for pete behind the bar.

Sorry to trigger anyone. I do remember how hard they hit alcohol with taxes (first, and hopefully my last $40 pitcher of beer, and that was more than a decade ago). You can order it delivered to the Alburg store and use the customs on 225 or 223, where they seldom check anything. And sometimes you guys get stuff they won't even import down here, so there is some consolation.

I see you've got 2 bottles of Weller 12yr, there. You don't really need two bottles, right? I'll take that smaller bottle off your hands....

Cracked open the Quiet Man, nice and smooth. Enjoying it along side of a cold Karlsberg Urpils. Don’t judge!

Thanks! This is the current state of collection for me... running out of shelf space and the wife scoffs when I ask her to move family pictures for whiskey.
