Like you, I have multiple Rolexes and Omegas; all of them stay within chronometer standards.

All the best.
My SeaDweller has just been serviced, I have to pick it up today....I've had the thing for 20+ years, always found the Omega keeps better time, I have a few friends with Sub's and they all say the same thing.......not so much a complaint as an observation. I still love the thing.

I have a seamaster than was handed down to me by my grandfather. I wear it because it has sentimental value more so than status.

I do like the submariner- it's a classic style and will one day add to my collection. Rolex & Omega watches are exceptional time pieces which you can hand down to next generations (if you're in to that kind of thing).

With that being said, if I didn't have either - I would go with the rolex. The submariners are built like tanks and can be worn daily, in the ocean, etc. and still look damn good.

I was going to get a Tag Carrera at first but I knew deep down inside I'd always want to trade up to a Rolex one day, so I just waited and got the Rolex.
I have a Tag Carrera 1887, I want a Rolex Sub Date now. So I know what you mean. The aftermarket value on the 1887 plummets as the so called "first in house movement" is actually Seiko. There should be a class action lawsuit.

Rolex will always hold their value, especially the Sub and Daytona. That's the big plus of Rolex and Patek, the used market price is high as they don't discount upfront.

Both watches are excellent watches and IMO " tool watches " meaning they both can take a punishment and work flawlessly. For the value, Omega wins it. For ocean max depth Omega wins it. Depends on your usage, if you never touch the water and travel into different time zone's frequently I would recommend looking at a GMT II or an Explorer II.

But of the two, I would pick the Omega.

Started with a tt omega bond and picked up a tt blue sub a few years later. Actually wear both, depends on mood to be honest. sometimes, just dont like the flash of Rolex and Omega blends well with whatever and wherever you may be.

my issues is that I love/collect watches and should have been an octopus...

I have one and doesn't get much wrist time. Like leather band watches better I guess.
