Disney+ issues

So I downloaded the app but it says there's an issue connecting with the service. Anyone else have this problem? Haven't had any issues with Apple TV plus which lets you watch some episodes without a free trial or subscription. Not good considering I paid for this.

I had the same issue. Give it time, it will work.

Its likely having issues because of the millions of people signing in for the first time.

It's jammed up right now. Try different navigation methods like bimmer456 mentioned.

I was able to watch Mandalorian when clicked on from my favorites list but it took 4 times to add it to the list

The kids are going to love this.

Yes it is awesome. Glad I got the 3 year deal for $3 and change a month but still a good deal at the regular prices.

Looks like I can add all the shows to the Apple TV app as it is linked to my Apple ID so it will just show up on the Apple TV no need to log onto the Disney plus app like you do Netflix.

The iOS Apple TV app opens the show in Disney+ but shares the play info w/Apple TV.

The MacOS Apple TV app seems to be unaware. Guessing b/c there isn't a MacOS Disney+ app.

Shame watching Job's idea for a simplified TV interface become fragmented between all these apps.

There was a promo I think a couple months ago over Labor Day weekend that if you signed up for there membership which is free they sent you a link offer for 3 years for $140 but it ended after Labor Day I believe.

I missed out on their Best promo: Although Disney's three-years-for-the-price-of-two deal has expired, we'd be surprised if the company doesn't offer more deals as it tries to gain more subscribers.

I will keep my eyes peeled on Black Friday and before the end of the year. I am confident there will be another Promo...

Yeah I'm glad I got locked in before they raise prices in a couple years. I'm already cheaper than their current prices at my locked in rate so it will only get better.

Yeah I heard about that Verizon deal but I like my grandfathered plan better than the ones they have now. I get 22% off through my work, the new plans don't get the discount.

Apple TV+, HBO Max (not released), Hulu (I think) and Netflix (is considering too) reworking their release schedules to weekly so that people don't binge watch all the shows and then have nothing to look forward to.

We're at the start of TV re-inventing itself.

Apple TV+ released about 4 episodes of each of their flagship shows to start with and will release the rest on a weekly basis. You can watch the first two episodes without signing up for a free trial but you will need a free 7 day trial subscription to watch the rest. I like the shows on ATV+ but haven't signed up for the trial yet. I may just wait until I upgrade my Mac or iPad and get 1 year free. Not sure if refurbished will qualify but some refurbished stock costs more than new if you're getting higher spec devices than base model new.

I have read where Netflix customers are actually happy like me to binge watch. I hope they keep doing this. I'm really waiting hard for The Witcher!

I think Disney is offering a bundle for $12.99 a month not sure how they will work it if I already pre paid at a discounted price. It is not HBO though but espn plus along with Hulu I'd rather have HBO.

I read something similar on another site and it made my head hurt.

https://help.disneyplus.com/csp?id=c...0cf158bf9619c8

Unless, you really want or need all three, it's probably best to subscribe individually to each service, otherwise I could imagine hours long support chats trying to straighten things out if you want to change something.

For me ESPN isn't an incentive. I have the Disney+ at $69.99/year, which equals $5.83/mo. If I wanted Hulu that would be another $5.99/mo, which together is less than the bundle.

I've avoid Hulu and will continue to b/c what you get at each level is not clearly spelled out. For example, if I subscribe to the $5.99 plan do I get all shows the next day after they air? Based on my research the answer is yes, but/except ... and but/except are not well defined. Probably b/c of the content provider contracts but hey don't care that's Hulu's issue work it out.

Here's how it works if you were already a Hulu subscriber (which I was):

By itself, the Bundle of Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ costs $12.99/month.

Being a Hulu subscriber---AND if you sign up for the Disney+ Bundle using the same email as the Hulu account---you get a $5.99 credit automatically on the account. You don't need to do anything to get the credit. You just need to use the same email for both accounts. They recognize it on their end.

So, that's $12.99 minus $5.99 = $7.00/month for all three services.

I already got a billing detail email from Disney confirming that everything is in order with the credit.

Was very easy.

Watched The Mandalorian last night with my 14 and 16 year-old girls. All of us loved it. Really well done, and gives the visual feel of the Star Wars films from the 70s and 80s.

Yes I do like how they brought back the look and feel of the original films after Disney acquired the rights. Not sure why he never removes his helmet though, apparently it's part of their tradition.
