Annoyed that Customer Service allowed me to schedule an afternoon reaidential delivery to my home only to get a phone call from my local FedEX center saying they won't deliver because their drivers go home at 4pm. Seriously?

So f-ng stupid.

Agreed, terrible in my area as well. On multiple occasions I have been expecting a Fedex delivery and as I sat in my house received a notification that delivery attempt failed, no one home. Complete BS. No delivery attempt was ever made. The driver simply decided to call it a day and falsely claimed we weren't home... Yes, first world problems but when your expecting legal documents that you need to sign and return it is a bit more urgent than something from Amazon!

FedEx ground folks are independent contractors...odd statement by them.

needless, not sure how large the item is you're looking to have delivered...but you can have them sent to FedEx Kinko's drop sites. Makes it easy when shit needs signed for...

Just trying to help...

^ Yes, that is what I do now. I can't trust Fedex to deliver to my home so I have it held at the closest Fedex Kinko's. It is a shame because they used to provide such excellent service but it really has gone down hill in the past year or two...

You should feel lucky you don't have carrier laser ship over there. If you think FedEx is bad, these guys are 10x worse.

USPS is garbage in my neighborhood. They claimed they didn't have access to my building to deliver a package just this Monday.

Imagine you being out of the country and needing to sign, they deliver to Fedex Kinkos... but if you dont show up in a week to sign for it they wont keep it for you and return to sender. Oh, and they wont deliver to your front office for a sig. either like every other gd package you order when you're actually in the country, fuckers

Was it Amazon I saw on the news last night that will deliver it and put in the trunk of your car? Something about On-Star will unlock the vehicle so they can deliver, then when you get home to your SPARE On-Star vehicle, it's there.

What a country!

All shipping carriers who deliver to homes appear to be showing strains from growing Amazon and other e-commerce deliveries. We've had problems with FedEx (including FedEx and FedEx Ground), UPS, USPS and LaserShip (which seems like people delivering packages in their cars).

They deliver routinely to homes @ 8pm regularly around here.

But I have noticed FedEx lately in general has been slacking...

I am not joking when I say this happens to probably 2/3 of my packages that come through FedEx ground. I HATE FEDEX WITH A PASSION FEDEX LOL

No problems ever with UPS, and USPS occasionally a small hiccup.

4PM? Dang they get out early. Both UPS and FedEx here says "before 8PM" most of the time but I have seen and gotten packages delivered as late as 8. Must either have a lot more trucks in your area or not as much packages as my area does. From what I understand they can go home once they're done with their deliveries.

Raised heck recently with a package being delivered by FedEx. The package was being shipped one state over locally so it would only take one day. On the day it was supposed to be delivered, tracking showed all was well. Deliver by 8PM. I waited and waited. 8PM comes and I decide to call FedEx. Was told it won't be delivered that day and they will deliver tomorrow. Next day, I check tracking and now it's showing as delivery on Tuesday. Called FedEx again to request the package be held at their shipping hub. Was told they can't do that. I then ask why I have to wait till Tuesday and was told that's the next business day for home delivery.

Being less than satisfied with the run around, I called back and immediately asked for a supervisor. I get one on the phone and voiced my displeasure with how this all was being handled when there was no weather related incidents causing the delay. The supervisor called down to the FedEx hub and verified the package was there and on the truck. We then got status that the package was out for delivery. The supervisor on the phone talked to the supervisor at the hub to get status from the driver on an approximate window my package would be delivered and to ensure it would be delivered that day. I eventually got my package about 30 minutes to an hour into the window. Meanwhile the online tracking status was still showing delivery for Tuesday until it updated that they had delivered the package.

USPS has been no better and I've been soured by their service when I received a package that had been tampered with by someone there. The package was obviously opened by someone at USPS and taped closed with only one or two Scotch tape strips. I was beside myself the courier would even deliver something in this condition without having it in one of those envelopes that acknowledges they F'd up with the handling. Of course an item was missing (or should I say stolen) from the package. Had to file a report and the seller opened a case with USPS. I've also found 2 day Priority shipping doesn't mean 2 days with USPS. It's we'll do our best and just be happy if you do get it in 2 days.

One thing I have DEFINITELY noticed with FedEx lately... The sorry ass drivers are NOT bothering to ring the door bell. They just drop your shit off and go.
