E60 5 series safety vs F10

I am looking to get into a 535i, I would rather have the E60 for the N54, but the poor side impact rating is worrisome. I haven't really been able to find much info, but the 2011+ cars got much better ratings. Anyone have any more info on comparing the two?

IIHS gives the E60 a marginal side impact rating, F10 gets the big 'G' for good. If side impact safety is your primary concern then the obvious choice is the F10. By no means would I ever consider the E60 anything close to an unsafe car, nor would I let a marginal side impact rating dissuade me from buying an E60. Good luck with whatever you choose.

OK thanks for the response. I am trying to make a kind of pros and cons list between the two. The aftermarket support will probably be more of the deciding factor

Both E60 and F10 have ample aftermarket support.
