Parking Lot Morons

Figured this would be fun. Almost a day doesn’t go by without something happening. For reference, I never take 2 spots or park over the lines. That’s just asking for trouble. I tuck myself into a corner and if the person next to me parka correctly it still leave at least 4 feet between the cars. Wishful thinking.

Attaching 2 pics. The one with the silver Mazda was yesterday. I was so annoyed I didn’t get the angle right but you can see my red M3 just a foot away and the Mazda splitting the line. Hundreds of empty spaces around.

The other is from my last car, a stelvio quad. Parked all the way in the back of the lot by myself only to return to find my car literally surrounded. These people had to pass a hundred empty spots to park right next to me.

I’m sure there are plenty of stories out there…

People in $hit boxes both admiring your car while f'ing w/ you. Happens all the time and imagine its younger people b/c the ave American is too lazy to walk that far.

Here’s my favorite. The Moto Guzzi is mine and the asshole in the scooter had me collletely pinned in. I had to push his crappy scooter out of the parking spot to get my bike out.

I feel your pain. I go out of my way to park far away from everyone, seeking out the perfect end spot. It never fails, when I return someone is parked right on top of me. It happened to me Monday. I parked in the middle of nowhere, the lot was wide open and I was far away from the stores. I come back and some jerk parked right on top of my passenger side. I don't know how he got out of the car without dinging me. And I checked it closely before leaving.

I told a guy one day that parking lots had the same etiquette as urinals. You don't come right next to me unless you have no other choice.

Last week I was at the drugstore getting ready to leave. Empty spaces everywhere. This woman drives in and pulls up on my right so close that she can't get her driver's door open to get out. I was like, "WTF are you thinking?" I motion her back into her car for a sec and then I pulled out and drove away. In this country any moron can get a license and far too many of them drive without a license or insurance.

People are for the MOST part retarded and they don't have a sense of any sort of self awareness...

They cannot think thru the fact that there is a reason you parked alone and farther away... so they think they somehow must huddle next to you. I experienced this very thing the other day... I parked further away with tons of spots around me and as I sat and ate... I saw 3 different cars pull up next to me and drive away after a few minutes or park... why? I have absolutely no idea why.

This falls under the same category to me as those people that absolutely must merge in front of you... not realizing there is no one behind you for a mile lol.

The mall is my favourite place to watch the stupidity. People will drive around for 20 min to get a spot close to the building and the spot is inevitably too small and they can't drive worth a shit and can't park in it properly. They are going into a mall to walk around for 2 hours but won't walk an extra 100' to where there are lots of empty spots.

I always park way out in the distance where there isn't anyone, exercise never hurt anyone but without fail when I come back to the truck some clown is jammed right up next to it with tons of empty spots all around. You can't fix stupid.

Funny story - I was searching for a spot in a shopping center a few years back and parked far away from the store at the end of the lot in an end space. Another BMW parked one row ahead of me in the opposite end spot. We both got out of our cars at the same time and started walking towards the store. He was with his wife. She looks at me and back at her husband and says What is it with you BMW drivers, you're all the same? To which I respond, We need to keep away from the asshole drivers that park right next to us. She says, I'm that asshole driver....

The only good thing about being disabled is that I get prime Handicapped parking in front and always park in the HC spots that have the blue boxed off section to allow for ingress/egress from the vehicle if you so happen to be in a wheelchair(or have the Handi-van)&need to unload etc. No dings/dents/wheelchair tire marks/issues.

It never fails. Happened to me yesterday. I spent a few minutes crawling and looking for any marks (even touches).

There was another thread here discussing WHY this happens, and I think some folks enlightened me that cattle tries to find other cars to “guide” them into the spot, as people can’t park using the lines, since they just guide themselves based on distance to other cars.

The other day I saw a woman pull up at Costco next to the car in front of me using this “technique”. She managed to go over the first line and hug the second (Costco has a double line so you can ride the cart in the middle, and it serves the purpose of being able to open doors wide too), coming so close to the other car…

I wish there was something we could do when that happens…

My #1 pet peeve. When I deliberately park far way to avoid others parking next to me, only to return and find that empty spots notwithstanding - someone did just that.

Speed up to cut you off/ get in front of you (with no one behind you) to take an exit ramp just to slow down to a grandma crawl, NOT considering that just maybe you might be taking that ramp too in a VERY fast car and don't slam on your brakes just b/c you are existing a highway. People are incredibly stupid and inconsiderate.

Sometimes they do pull to the side out of courtesy. Mostly when you blow by them on the shoulder they think "what an asshole", instead of "maybe I'm really f'ing slow and annoying".

I will give you an inverse moron example. Couple months ago I when to Best Buy and as usual I parked my Toyota Tacoma in the furtherest of spaces next to the divider. Up pulls a Lamborghini Huracan and parks in the space right by the door next to a Ford F150 with a blue book of $200.00 at most.

Many years ago I rented single-car garage that was in a row of garages that backed into the street, across from where I worked. It had a wood floor and no doors.

One evening, we went downtown with some friends to have a rare dinner out. Pulled up to my rented garage and some asshole had parked his new Mercedes Benz in my garage. While the girls walked down to the corner and waited, my buddy and I let the air out of all 4 of his tires. The whole neighborhood smelled like rubber.

A couple weeks back I saw a Gallardo parked in the spot adjacent to the cart return at the Home Depot. So not just shopping carts, but the full on big metal carts.

Even car folks aren't car folks.
