Cool Pic Thread #2 (NO NSFW / NO POLITICS / NO PEOPLE)

I will be flat out stunned if anyone can guess:

1. What is this (specifically)?
2. Where was the picture taken?

Even the extraordinary photo sleuthing powers of Lady Jane may get stumped on this one, however there is a clue in the picture.....

It's obvious a part of an animatronic character. (The clue) If made in Germany, it could be from Hüttinger Animatronics GmbH & Co. located near Munich. Because of the teeth, it may ne a "fright prop". I'll guess the exact location as the Munich Science and Technology museum.

You are somewhat close in many respects; your sleuthing never fails to impress!

So the picture was taken in Munich...at the Disney 100 Exhibit that just opened in April. The animatronic is from an animated pirate in the original "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride in DisneyLand. I was surprised at the number of what looks to be coaxial cables needed to control just the face...and that is just for one pirate.

Cool Esteban, the bull elk was grazing along the side of old 101, now a 45 mph parkway through the redwoods, and literally stopped traffic, I eased myself around in the wrong lane to pass cars, the bull was that far away (15'?). No big deal sitting in the car, and it was a long day so anxious to get on home.

Thanks Esteban, come up to Humboldt and see for yourself. Common place north of Eureka in and around the redwood state and national park (note my jaded look in previous pic).
