I always had the philosophy that a mini-van could never be cool, no matter what it looked like or what it had under the engine. Well, if this is considered to be a minivan than I take it all back (well, most of it anyway). A minivan that can do 0-60 in under 5 seconds (faster than a 335i) and doesn't look half bad, who would have thought: http://www.mbusa.com/models/main.do?modelCode=R63

Although I'm thinking this might be classified as an SUV.

This is basically a reworked Chrysler Pacifica.

I've seen it in the flesh, ugly as hell, terrible MPG, might as well remove AMG tag and put SRT on it...

But, yes, I have to say it looks better than my wife's Odyssey...

I think it was originally classified as a touring wagon (or something of that nature). I used to wonder why luxury makers dont make luxury vans. I later realized that there is no point because a Sienna can be loaded with pretty much everything you could ask for in a van.

I think the R class looks alright but I would never pay so much for it. I honestly hope Lexus wont follow and make a luxury van. blehh

Looks like a bad cross between a minivan and an suv. MB are not selling them as well as they had hoped (which is exactly what happened to the Pacifica-one does not seem to learn from previous mistakes)

They look like absolute crap. Its basically an awd mini van. I dont know why MB decided to make an AMG version if it has not been selling well...

At the end of the day, why not just get a proper SUV or a proper car? I really dont like all the 'crossover' vehicles that are currently being made...

True, but at least some other manufacturers are able to create 'crossovers' that are not an eyesore, Mazda CX-7, CX-9 for example, or Infiniti FX (almost), these are good sellers.

6 months ago they could not give those cars away. They had over 7k back on them and you could lease one in the mid to low 500's. These will be worth nothing very soon.
