Hell I like Corona a lot... It's a tropical beer that is meant to be as such... for that purpose it's quite refreshing... FYI, until the craft beer revolution a few years back, the US (greatest nation) in the world didn't have a single beer that didn't taste like rest area urinal backwash.

I actually drink Corona or Sol with a slice of lime. Not a big drinker so tend to have a couple when it's really hot which is about twice a year here in Blighty. Wonder if it tastes different in the UK?

Corona with lime is not bad. Without lime, it doesn't taste good at all.
But then I'm not a beer drinker anyway. I tend to prefer mixed drinks when possible.

Beer:
A great micro brew, Highlands Brewing Co or Wicked Week, maybe Natty Greens... Liquor: Single Malt Whiskey, neat. When you lived in Beer City USA for 10 years, it spoils you a little... |

It depends I know a lot of EU shit gets bottled in the states. For instance Sobieski caramel in Poland has an actual caramel color and tastes like caramel. The US version is bottled here and the look and taste is totally different. Same thing for the US bottled Zubruwka, it tastes nothing like the actual one in Poland. I think it has something to do with the fact that they cannot use Bison grass in the US bottled version. So if a foreign alcohol was bottled in the US then it is safe to say it will taste nothing like the original.

You have to take into account the target market for Corona. This is what the Bud Light and Coors crowd drink when they want to move up in the world. They've positioned it in that second tier level next to Heineken; a more upscale beer, still crap but better than the tier one options.
I'm not trying to knock Corona drinkers, my Dad loves that shit. I have to take a 12 pack of Highlands (or whatever MB I'm currently drinking) with me when ever I visit to be able to survive the weekend. Those of us that have drunk micro-brews for years forget what a huge shock it is to people to drink a beer with body and flavor when all they've ever had is Bud Light. |
