iPhone or stick with Verizon?!
Hey guys. I am trying to figure out whether to get the iPhone 3GS or stick with Verizon. I know for a fact that AT&T is not as good a network as Verizon. But is it close enough to get what I think is a great phone, the iPhone? I am in North Jersey if that helps things. Thanks for the feedback!

I don't know how the reception in NJ is, but down in MD in the areas I go to, I always seem to have 3-5 bars of 3G. I also get 3-5 bars of 3G when I am in Daytona Beach, FL for college. I am satisfied with the coverage. Although a bit peeved MMS and tethering won't be available immediately when OS 3.0 is released this Wednesday.
And comparing how it stacks up against my parents on Verizon, reception is about equal. I always seem to have the same number of bars as they do when I ask how many they have, if not within 1 bar. |

I don't know the signal strength, but NJ is covered in blue which means most of NJ has 3G coverage. And looking at EDGE coverage, it is mostly dark orange which means it has a pretty strong coverage of the state. You can get the iPhone and if coverage for you is lacking in your area, you can return it in 30 days with no cancellation fees, etc. Maybe a restocking fee, but that is pretty much it.
Oh and if you do go 3GS, don't get one at AT&T. They already sold out of their initial shipments via Pre-Orders. |

Won't happen until LTE is up most likely. AT&T's exclusive contract isn't up until 2010-2012( I have heard it was a 3 year exclusive to a 5 year exclusive). Plus, Apple isn't going to make a CDMA phone just for one market. Apple will wait until Verizon has setup their LTE coverage to offer Verizon(again) the iPhone.

Cnet was saying to not sign a new 2 year contract just for the iphone because apparently apple is not happy with at&t. apparently apple was criticizing at&t pretty badly at the recent wwdc.
