Car sits higher after shocks

I got new shocks installed on my e60 535xi and the car is sitting almost an inch higher than it was before. The boot looks like it's too big as it's fully compressed and has zero movement is it possible that it's causing the suspension to sit higher?

Couple possibilities:

If the shocks were just installed, you will need to put some miles on them and the springs may settle a little.

Its possible your origonal struts were sagging pretty bad too and now the car is at stock height
