I'm the opposite. I feel the Cayman has always looked better than the the same gen 911 from every angle. I like the lower front hood line and the body lines leading to the intakes highlight the car better.

No joke I was looking at a colleague's 981 GTS with 27K miles. He'll sell it to me for $60K and it has PDK. Very tempted but with pandemic we're not driving much (same reason he's selling). Always loved the looks of the 981 gen, particularly the GTS variant.

If you are referring to the current gen NSX between the cars you mentioned... NSX with zero second guessing for more reasons I care to list!

I sold my gen1 NSX couple years ago and got a 981 Cayman S, but if I had the money I would have got the new NSX....
NSX will cost you more than a GT4 and a lot more than a GTS, so not really fair comparison as far as dollar for dollar. You can get a nice 981 GT4 these days in low $80's and a used NSX for about $120K Love my 981, but do miss my 92 NSX Last edited by SoCal_NSX; 03-10-2021 at 01:37 AM.. |

But it's being compared to vehicles in this thread that are significantly more MSRP new(NSX, R8, 991.1 GTS) with the performance and design to justify the price and therefore won't see as much praise. |

With most NSX cars sitting around $120-140k, I would think the coming GT4 RS would be a more fair comparison. The GT4 RS is one of the cars I am very excited about in 2021. I think the hard decision will then become GT4 RS or used 991 series GT3 RS. |

GT4 for me because I haven't owned a Porsche and want to. I've owned several Honda's and there's a cold feeling with them that's built into most Japanese vehicles as even domestics have more personality. While the NSX is a great technological achievement it's a video game car and with the dawn of EV's approaching I would prefer to stay old school as long as possible.

Priced out a 2021 NSX: with cf parts it’s $181K and without it’s $161K before discount. From what I’ve gathered there’s $20-30K discount from manufacturer and $30K discount from dealers making it roughly $100-120K+TTL. About the cost of a 718 GT4.

Nsx is $420k here + on roads. The Cayman GT4 is half that.
They only sold 9 NSXs since 2016 here in Australia and pulled it from the market after zero sales in 2020. Weird to see the choice between the two. |

High end cars are bonkers in Australia, absolutely BONKERS. Even if you take the luxury tax off the price, it's still absolutely insane.
Nothing with any power makes any sense bar a Mustang. |

This sweet NSX is $115k and I'm seeing some just over $100k.
All things being considered: True Exotic good looks, performance, reliability, technology, its the clear winner of these choices. https://www.edmunds.com/acura/nsx/20...ue&radius=6000 https://www.edmunds.com/acura/nsx/20...19/?radius=100
