4th of July plans?

Happy 4th everyone. Wanted to see how everyone is celebrating--I will be taking the boy to a park and rec event and swim in the day. Then some burgers at home and off to a party at a friends tiki bar on a beach. And it will get topped off with legal and illegal fireworks.

Happy 4th! Not much celebrating here just enjoying the time with people I care about. I plan on putting up my new mailbox tomorrow morning, I'm more excited about this than I should be. My two sons are coming by for a cookout in the afternoon, then fireworks with the girlfriend and her kids tomorrow night.

Followed by self loathing at work the following morning.

i got some of those "safe and sane" fireworks. California ...

my question is this. Does anyone have access to "unsafe and insane" fireworks? you know the ones that we used to have access to as kids? Bottle rockets, wasps and other missiles, black cats? Is there anywhere these are still ok to buy and use?

Texas. I may look for some on the way home. But they are only sold in unincorperated areas.

Can't you get all that in PA? They used to be damage central back in the day.

But seriously, do your neighbors (especially the combat veterans among them) a favor and don't set off a few random explosions. They also don't mix well with fingers and eyes. Quick safety tip - static electricity microsparks when you pick fireworks up can set these off, and if they spark right to the base of the fuse you don't get any warning, just a neat new carbon fiber 'hand'.

Hard to get illegal ones here in CA--I have a couple mortars from last year that my brother in law bought in Nevada. Shit, I bought a bunch of safe and sane in San Bruno where they are legal...but I live in San Mateo. No fireworks are legal here, yet tons go off everywhere..including my house.

They almost sell some sort of fireworks at every grocery store in PA.. Just feel bad for all the Vets who do have to hear it with any form of PTSD

I and most of my friends have been banned from shooting fireworks by spouses/significant others. My last show looked like Apocalypse Now...in other words, a complete success. Since I'm seeing someone new, I don't want to show the pyro side of me just yet and will go to the top of some skyscraper to watch it with her, my best friends and the rest of the civilians.
