Splenda. Yay or Nay???

I have recently started substituting Splenda as opposed to using sugar.

I use like 5-7 of those little packets you get(I jack them from Tim Hortons) a day. what's you opinion on this guys? is it bad or a good substitute?

Why?

Because your saving a couple calories?

I can't stand it when people use Splenda and truly believe that they are doing their body any good.

Yay ..If you are watching your calories.

Been on it since it came out. The best tasting artificial sweetener without that yucky Sweet'n Low type after taste, IMO.

Slepnda is the nastiest tasting crap. I had to throw out my tea one time because I figured I'd give it a try.

I would rather use nothing than use splenda.

I think some people are a bit confused about the point of the thread.

It's not a question of 'which do you prefer' - it's a question of 'is splenda better for you than sugar'.

All artificial sugars are bad for your health. If you have to add sugars, make sure it's natural.

Splenda is sucralose, a man-made sweetener. I would avoid. It is a chemical that should not be ingested by humans. Avoid aspartame/NutraSweet as well for the same reasons.

A much better choice would be Stevia, a naturally sweet herb.
